The only thing I take from Beck was when people were talking about all these connections between groups and individuals he was exposing I thought I would check for myself. So I did.

He was exactly spot on. It's a spider web of people and forces that should frighten anyone who embraces liberty and freedom.

My wife has been a supporter and signed on to his Blaze thing. She is disgusted and will let her membership lapse.

Seems to me, your take is exactly right.

What I find funny is that now that people agree with Beck they assume that he is "recovered", rather than perform any introspection.

I don't know him so I couldn't say. I certainly hold out hope that a person can see the error of their ways and reform, if they're willing.
