No, Trump didn't make fun of a disabled reporter.[W:98]

Re: No, Trump didn't make fun of a disabled reporter.

*sigh*

I didn't think I would have to spell out that he wasn't making fun of the reporter's disability as that's the whole point of it.

Can you admit it wasn't presidential for him to do that?

Let's look at your thread title "No, Trump didn't make fun of a disabled reporter."

It clearly looks like you are talking about the reporter and not his disability.

You make a misleading thread and then blame others for not getting your meaning.

Are you related to Trump?

Re: No, Trump didn't make fun of a disabled reporter.

The "case presented" is idiotic. Happy?

No. I'll take your inability to actually present a refutation to accompany your blithe remarks as a concession. Thank you for agreeing with the OP.

Re: No, Trump didn't make fun of a disabled reporter.

Well I think the video makes a valid case that Trump may not have been making fun of the reporter's disability. It shouldn't surprise anyone the DNC campaign team would do dishonest tactics, just look how they completely and dishonestly slanted the binder comment of Romney to distort what he meant. Listen I think Trump is a horrible candidate but I also hate the corrupt tactics of the Hilary campaign that is just typical of the DNC. Like staging and paying people to cause violence at Trump rallies. I figured they were doing it but to have proof this is the case just validates my feelings about them. I thought it was weird the accusations from the women came up at the same time. None of them came out when they supposedly happened and then boom several like in a day at the perfect time. I have a hard time thinking that was organic and not organized. If they pay to cause violence at rallies, do fake fainting scenes at their rallies to look heroic, on and on, its not beneath them to pay women to make claims. It could be some are telling the truth, some are plants, who knows. I wouldn't put past it that it was a combination of both as Trump admitted doing that although with the paying of the violence at the Trump rallies I cannot say for sure that it wasn't Just Trump doing stupid lockerroom type banter without him actually doing those things. Again I wouldn't put it past him, and i do think just someone talking that way puts him beneath the character of the presidency but so does having such a corrupt, sleazy campaign. OK rant off.

Agreed. The point I was focusing on, and I thought the OP was pretty clear, wasn't a defense of Trump but an indictment of the media and it's lies. Trump still sucks and there are plenty of things that aren't made up that he can be hammered for.

And then you didn't watch the video. Do you also read the news only via headlines? You got me dead to rights, though. My title wasn't exactly specific enough. Point for you.

The claim in the video might hold some water if Trump didn't have a history of insulting people. But he has an extensive history of insulting and belittling people so his making fun of a disabled person is completely within character.

Re: No, Trump didn't make fun of a disabled reporter.

Here is something that I had always taken as fact. Trump has had a history of being nasty to people so I really didn't even bother to check the media on this, as I do for about everything reported about Trump. Still doesn't wipe out his "***** grabbing" comment, among other things, though.

I just happened to run across this video and it seems pretty solid, which surprised me. This is not a defense of Trump, which should be obvious, but a condemnation of our POS media and how utterly devoid of integrity they have. We all know this but I will always push to pull back the mask lest people forget.

I'm at the point where random bloggers are possibly more trustworthy to me than the MSMs.

That does nothing to refute the reality of the matter presented in the video. They even side-step the point in their own article.

"Trump may deny that he intentionally mocked Kovaleski for his disability, but many Americans believe his remarks amounted to mocking, and we concur that that’s a reasonable -- indeed, perhaps the only -- interpretation of his actions. The notion that Trump’s comments about Cruz and a general undercut Clinton’s claim don’t hold water, because all three examples constitute mocking, whether a disability was involved or not. We rate the statement False."

It's not mocking people in general that the controversy is about. It's about Trump mocking a person's disability.

I give Politifact a big 'ol FALSE for intellectual integrity.

Don't let the facts get in your way. Such pesky things!

Re: No, Trump didn't make fun of a disabled reporter.

Didn't the RW media goddess Coulter explain he was only doing general retard and not being specific? As if that was somehow more excusable!

Yeah I wouldn't be surprised either way. But the points in the video are valid so it is also very plausible he wasn't making fun of the disabled reporter. A honest campaign team would then not use it in commercials. But it's win at all costs. I'm just glad more and more people are seeing through it all.(and Trump does the same kind of things, i'm not naive to think he's better.)

The big problem you have selling your argument is that mocking a disabled reporter is perfectly in character for him. "Just look at him!"

Re: No, Trump didn't make fun of a disabled reporter.

Another little rant. Obama talking about the danger of saying rigged election. His Administration likely used government agencies to target political opposition and he acts sanctimonious about people having fears of a rigged election. I am pretty confident if it was possible to rig the election, and maybe, hopefully, it's too decentralized, they would do it in a heart beat. They'd just take the fifth if caught.

Re: No, Trump didn't make fun of a disabled reporter.

This thread reminds me of the old Richard Pryor line to his wife..... "who you gonna believe.... me or your lying eyes?"

Re: No, Trump didn't make fun of a disabled reporter.

This is going no where. Fast.

Re: No, Trump didn't make fun of a disabled reporter.

Doubling down on your own stupid comments? Let's make **** up shall we?

Apparenly your dictionary is pretty lame.

The meaning in play is....unconvincingly feeble. That sums your argument to the t.

so you can call people feeble, just not retard?

cookoo cookoo

I wouldn't expect that you would comprehend the concept of using a pejorative at the expense of an innocent would be a cheap and common practice.

speaking of feeble...your reply. :lamo

Re: No, Trump didn't make fun of a disabled reporter.

Yet another example of why no one takes you seriously.

you speak only for yourself, and you suck at that as well.

Re: No, Trump didn't make fun of a disabled reporter.

Using the word lame as a pejorative is about as retarded as it gets.

Which I have not done.

You really aren't very good at this.

That video does nothing credible to address either the claim of "I saw thousands of people celebrating" or to show he didn't make fun of that reporter.

It's pure desperation for the desperate.
