Women and Islam

I made the following post in another thread, but then I realized that it was out of place for the topic and deserved it’d own thread. So here it is:

Islam is a rotten religion based solely on its “official” treatment of women as temptresses to the point that they must wear veils so that no other man besides their husband can even gaze upon them, while on the other hand allowing some of the men to take multiple wives and to divorce them simply by stating so.
And thus I say BLAH! to Islam as a religion. Christianity often does not allow women in official capacities, but that does not go nearly as far as Islam in demeaning women in general.

As such, Islam deserves to be condemned based in its treatment of women alone, no matter how many violent acts are performed in accordance with their Koran.

Historically, Christian communities treated women just as oppressively as in Islam. If anything, at the time of its founding, Islam gave women comparatively more rights than in Medieval Europe.

If we look at the present day, it is true that Muslim countries are comparatively more conservative than in the west. But it is also true that many Muslim women wear the hijab by choice, even when in non Muslim countries.

Any religion that advocates or maintains written instructions to mistreat any other human being or treat them as a second class citizen, denies them the very same rights or positions as males, lays a tax on unbelievers, tells women what they can do with thier own body is a sin, threatens the welfare, safety, or life for any reason, etc.....needs to be abolished, and its clerics, priests, mullahs, rabbis, etc, shot, drawn and quartered, incinerated, and their ashes scattered in an undisclosed location as a warning to others.

There...that should cover just about all religions...just about. :coffeepap

This is the barely coherent and grammatically inept speech of a man who desperately wants to be able to claim that he "cured coronavirus."

That's it, in a nutshell. When we do get a handle on this crisis, he wants to be able to pull out footage and declare "I called it! I said use this! I said try this! I told them to do this, it was my idea!" He's just doing it with lots of stupid stuff because he doesnt want to miss an opportunity. He's afraid 'the big one' will be mentioned and he wont get credit for it.

It's all about declaring himself the savior of the cv crisis and we'll hear all about it, esp in his campaign. (Which is basically each of his press briefings these days) --- Lursa

I don’t advocate “its clerics, priests, mullahs, rabbis, etc, shot, drawn and quartered, incinerated, and their ashes scattered in an undisclosed location”.
Sounds rather militant to me.

I would agree, the Middle East and North Africa are for the most part backward looking sh#tholes. Theocracies, Oligarchies and terrorist all waiting for a place in Paradise. One poster said some women wear face coverings of there own volition ..of course, after generations it becomes the norm. Unlike the bible which was revised, the more vulgar parts edited out, the Koran remains the same as it was 1500 years ago. If it wasn't for huge amounts of natural resources in the region ..most of the inhabitants in the middle east and North Africa would be living like the Taliban in Afghanistan ..backward looking Religious fanatics.

I have little tolerance for any religious dogma predicated on the oppression and subjugation of others......I consider it religious crimes against humanity.
