Plagues and Locusts, is the End nigh?

Not at all my point. This is more or less my point.

In a sense, why shouldn't we eat cheeseburgers until we pop? It doesn't matter in the end anyway.

We're all doomed to die someday. And, the odds that man lasts as long as Dino are slim. But, even if he does, he ain't gonna go on forever, either. Eventually, the earth will be swallowed by the sun and even galaxies eventually fade away when the last star in them burns itself out--they don't all go supernova; third, fourth fifth gen stars are too heavy to be giants. Besides, from what they now say, dark energy may drive everything apart in due time anyway.

The earth ain't goin' nowhere...

"A generation is going, and a generation is coming,
But the earth remains forever." Ecclesiastes 1:4

Why, yes I do...

"For the life of every sort of flesh is its blood, because the life is in it. Consequently, I said to the Israelites: “You must not eat the blood of any sort of flesh because the life of every sort of flesh is its blood. Anyone eating it will be cut off.” Leviticus 17:14

"to keep abstaining from things sacrificed to idols, from blood, from what is strangled, and from sexual immorality. If you carefully keep yourselves from these things, you will prosper. Good health to you!” Acts 15:29

If you had to follow Leviticus to the letter, you couldn't.
So I'll spare the board the usual pointers to the proof of that because it's already been done to death.

But if you really DO have a problem with public health emergency directives because you feel that they are bloody, immoral or represent idolatry then why aren't you out amongst the true believers and licking a church floor to show your faith?

So, you ignored Acts...got it...

Lo and behold: Here are no lo-custs.

No. We know for a fact that the earth is not forever. It has a few billion years left, tops.

Take it up with Jehovah...

There is no need to. I know what the score is.

Four billion down, maybe three and half billion to go. Though, I do doubt the habitable atmosphere makes it nearly that long. Two to three billion tops on that, landing either like Mars or Venus, depending on which variables come to pass.

Maybe it is incorrect to assign blame where there is none. Who do you blame for man being the dominant species on earth?

Jehovah set that law into action and it remains so to this day...

“Let us make man in our image, according to our likeness, and let them have in subjection the fish of the sea and the flying creatures of the heavens and the domestic animals and all the earth and every creeping animal that is moving on the earth." Genesis 1:26

So it is god's fault, after all. Thanks for acknowledging this.

I heard a few cicadas tonight. Just sayin'.

That man has domain over the animal kingdom, yes...got a problem with that?

In a sense, yes, it is problematic. We abuse animals, imprisoning and torturing them while also destroying their habitat, without giving it a second thought. Bad religions do that. Good religions, like some of those of the "noble savage" seem to revere the animal kingdom. We definitely do not.

And that certainly wasn't God's intent when He set that law into motion and He does take note...

"The righteous one takes care of his domestic animals,
But even the mercy of the wicked is cruel." Proverbs 12:10

What the hell is going on? Is this the beginning of the end, or are we well beyond the halfway point?

We had locust in this country. But like the trees, bison, wolves, alligators, pigeon, etc., if not protected you can say goodbye to them forever. We exterminated the locust by accident. Oh and we didn't even need a gun.

Trump or Bush. Everything is their fault. Just ask any democrat. Oh wait that is only true if it something bad. So if you consider us being the dominant species as being bad it is Bush or Trumps fault. I f you think it is a good thing then it was a democrat that made it happen.

We are the dominant species regardless of politics. It is a two edged sword.

It has nothing to do with religions or beliefs. Man, as a species, has learned to use technology and there is no turning back. We did not choose it, it chose us.

As long as you have no problem blaming man for his mistreatment of animals...

That is god's fault for telling man to have dominion over animals and giving man his nature.
