Last night, my wife and I rented this blockbuster hit move from 2018 Crazy Rich Asians

A young Chinese-American woman and a young Singapore student fell in love in New York. Unbeknownst to her, her beau was scion of the wealthiest most influential family in Southeast Asia. He invited her to visit his country for a friend's wedding. His mother strongly disapproved of the girl because she was of a single mother who bore her out of wedlock, as the result of an affair.

I have long noted leftwing bias in movies. Some egregious and some very subtle. Crazy Rich Asians was fairly entertaining, but definitely promoted anti-Christian leftwing 'values'. Here are some examples:

1. In an early scene, the scion's mother and her wealthy friends were holding a bible meeting, reading from various scriptural passages. So they were of the 19% Christian minority in Singapore. Never mind Buddhism, Islam, and atheism are all larger forces in that country. The moviemakers were foreshadowing the mother's bigotry and hypocrisy, and Christianity is the only PC scapegoat allowed.

2. The scion's mother believed family came first and women should put family above all career goals. The young girl, an economics professor, was scolded when she said her career was her passion.

3. The scion's mother did not permit two unmarried people to stay in her home. The couple cohabitated. When they went to Singapore, they shared a hotel room. The otherwise perfect son, told his mother he wouldn't abide by those old-fashioned rules.

4. The minor heroes were a gay male relative, and the girl's best college friend of questionable orientation.

5. Women dominated the role. The power structure was two moms and a grandmother. Fathers or grandfathers were non-existent. Both key straight male figures, other than the leading man, were portrayed as worms. One cheated on his wife; the other tried to submarine the couple's relationship.

6. The bachelor party was shown as a hedonistic sex orgy on a huge private barge

7. Everything was over-the-top materialism, excess, and gluttony, yet the family was supposed to be strict Chrisitans. The Christian church where the friends were married was converted into something of a jungle, with a little river running down the main aisle, and an Elvis song being played. It was portrayed as beautiful, but it was a desecration.

To summarize, this movie pushed leftwing memes all the way: Sex outside marriage, trashing of the traditional family structure, bastardization of Christianity, promotion of hedonism and excess, trashing of masculinity. All in one movie. Give me a Hallmark movie any day of the week.

Not about the trashing of Christianity.

Notice PC Hollywood didn't touch Buddhism, Islam, or irreligion, all of which are larger forces in that country than Christianity

That is to be expected, since there are so many hypocrites who claim to be Christian, these days...it's up to us to show others whether we are the real deal or not...

If it was so offensive why did you continue watching it?

My remote has functions to remove from the screen things that I don't agree with.

:lamo You sound like the most fun person in the world to watch a movie with...

Because I care, I'll offer you the following advice: Don't watch anything made after 1980. Maybe 1970, just to be safe.

It's a girl's movie, written by a girl, and made with female audiences in mind.

That's why it has a lot of girl stuff in it.

The main story is about a poorer girl who finds out the boy she's been dating for a long time is actually from a very rich family. This is a common girl's fantasy. Part of this is going to be winning the future mother in law over.

I went to see it with my wife; she enjoyed it.

My wife wanted to see it. I watched it with her. I also pointed out it was entertaining, but it did promote the same old Hollywood leftist crap.

I just don't think so. Christians do their best. That's why they are Christians. They widespread hypocrisy meme is a lie. It is in fact the irreligious who are the most hypocritical, as they absolve themselves of responsibility for doing good and being moal.

Then you are leading a life with your eyes shut, if that's what you think...

You poor victimized baby. How dare the left force you to watch a movie without bubble-wrap protection?

That was your choice. Thankfully you were there to explain all of the evil leftist crap to her so that she could understand it. Without that guidance she may have just thought it was a movie with the old poor girl meets handsome prince plot that has been rehashed 4 million times in books and movies.

 Getting offended by Crazy Rich Asians.

Yeah, keep the channel on hallmark grandpa.

Hallmark is so much better. Everyone in the family can watch them. Nothing trashy about them. People don't even kiss until the last scene. The best romantic comedies are like that. Like An Affair to Remember made in 1957 So much better than the obligatory sex scenes of Hollywood. It's a shame gullible young people are force fed that garbage. Leftwingers aren't smart enough to be discerning.

Wait they let you bring inflatable dolls into movie theaters?

Manufactured outrage is full tilt these days.

Leftwingers are too stupid to see how they're being manipulated by the Hollywood opinion-shapers. They just mindlessly follow along "Oh, sex outside marriage is a great thing. I see it in the movies all the time".

Because Righties never have sex outside of marriage, right?

Who did Trump sleep with right after his wife had a child? Here's a hint, it wasn't his wife.

I like Hallmark movies too. The thing is, they are not reality no matter how much you tell yourself that.

People have been having sex outside of marriage long before movies.

No, we are neither offended or "manipulated" by it.

It is a movie, that is it.

BTW, movies did not come up with half the things you think they influence us with.

It's just another in the piece of the effort to shape societal mores. People get pounded with it then assume it's normal and acceptable. It's not.

Sorry Trump was a Democrat then. But he's reformed now.
