Yaakov Litzman, health minister for Israel, has tested positive for COVID-19 after just last month saying that the virus was “punishment” for homosexuality.

According to The Times of Israel, Litzman, 71, has been accused of violating his own ministry’s guidelines on social distancing in order to continue to attend prayer services.

As well as being Israel’s health minister, he also leads the ultra-Orthodox United Torah Judaism party and witnesses said he was seen praying at the home of another member of his sect three days after indoor services were banned.

Would God start the coronavirus as punishment?

I don't think so.

A lot of people drown each year. Did God send water as a punishment for something?

I am just saying if Yaakov Litzman genuinely believes those who get infected have incurred God's wrath, what exactly has Yaakov done?

I admit that I get an indecent rush of schadenfreude when something like this happens. There's an emotional satisfaction in seeing someone who takes advantage of a disaster to promote their own bigotry get such a comeuppance. Hopefully, this woefully unqualified health minister will recover and see the error of his ways.:mrgreen:

And it has its good reasons in this case!

No sympathy with idiots of that kind!
