Two different meanings of the term CHRISTIAN that often get mixed up:

A - the factual meaning: a member of a Chistian Church - regardless of character etc - somebody who has been baptized
This is clear definition that can be proven

B- a kind of moral or ethical evalution: somebody who is a "good person" or a "pious believer"
This can NEVER be proven clearly and only leads to quarrelling

Now when I asked: "Are Catholics Christians" I had of course version A in mind and not B!

So this is the get-out-of-jail-free card for cold b@stards who have been baptized?

To me it is simple. You can be baptized a christian but never act like one. That's a fail. Trump and his people will never be good Christians. You follow Christ or you don't.

And here's another rub, even those not baptized can behave much more closely to Christ's teachings than many who are.

It seems you did not understand ma point at all.

"Who" you think I am will never matter, get that straight now.

I'm not religious but we can all read. I say again we can all read. To understand how a Christian should act it's all in the Bible - first four books of the New Testament to be specific. Now I do think that the pro-guns, pro-war and pro-life crowd have lost their way a little. Christ also had nothing to say about hating Mexicans.

I read a book once about dog training. The writer described a dog in puppy school that would bat its eyes and entice other dogs or people over, then get snppy and bite them for no reason. Time and again. They put the dog down.

My challenge is, let's do this without the word 'you'.
 
My topic is half a linguistic topic, half a religious topic.

Maybe those who are not interested in language will never understand my topic here - even if they live for 120 years.

I can tell you one thing - going onto social media and bragging about how great you are doesn't make you a Christian. Neither does going onto social media and and telling people you dont even know how worthless they are.

Hmm... it seems that A is a noun and B is an adjective.

not to mention the endless questions for which one only accepts answers one deems appropriate.

The B definition doesn't exist. Just being a "good person" doesn't make you a Christian. Christians are simply those who follow the teachings of Jesus Christ.

And your "regardless of character" doesn't work either. You can't be an unrepentant horrible person and still think you're saved simply because you were sprinkled or dunked.
