Christians in Name Only: Has there ever been another time which has so effectively exposed them all?

In some ways, I am wondering if maybe there truly is not a god. He sure is doing a hell of a job making it easy to spot the frauds.

It's like god has been working overtime ever since Trump got elected.

Especially when willing to be burned to death for their faith?

But what da ya mean about this Latest CINO?

CINO is pretty self explanatory. People who profess to believe in Jesus but ignore everything he teaches. Ironically, they call to him for grace. I say ironically because that Jesus does not exist. The only thing that exists are his teachings, which they spit upon.

So, what does that mean?

People would rather believe in fake things than reality. And, I find that bizarre, especially in the day and age when real knowledge is at everyone's fingertips.

Most of the people that I know that are Christian actually try to do it "correctly" (whatever that is in their opinion). Are you saying that you disagree with the things that President Trump has ben trying to do and you are ripping into "supposed Christians" for supporting him? Are you saying that a "true" Christian wouldn't vote/support Trump?

You either expect a person to be true to their beliefs or you don't...which is it?

Practicing what they preach is a good start.

If a person practices what they preach, then, is it not real?

No. I am saying that Jesus has a pretty good list of things to do and not do. Love they neighbor, forgive. Don't cast the judge (that whole cast first stone thing) or make a spectacle of yourself by praying in front of a crowd (that hypocrite thing).

It's kind of obvious who the CINOs are and see the difference between them and those holding true to Christian beliefs--hell most of those folks are not even Christian, and they practice it better than the CINOs.

Oh, so that's where the fake comes in...got it and I agree...we just studied last night about how Jesus exposed the hypocrisy of the scribes and the Pharisees...interesting read...Matthew 22:41–23:24...

If I'm not mistaken, the left had no problem with trumpeting as terrific the many Christians who support choice related to abortion. In that case, there was no damning insults about them being CINOs.

I'm not religious at all, but I'll never be disrespectful or dismissive of those who are.

Yes, much ado is made to praising Jesus without actually listening to what the man said.

I read somewhere, a long time ago, that this is the result of "doing good deeds" being supplanted by beliefs in spiritual salvation which, by itself, is not necessarily a problem. But, once someone walks down that road--foregoing the good deeds for selfish beliefs--then they quickly quit following the teachings of the man they supposedly believe will give them this salvation.

IMO, Jesus is not going to be very pleased with those people, assuming he is out there somewhere, keeping score.

Abortion has nothing to do with Jesus. But, if you can find anywhere that Jesus bitched about abortion, please cite.

BTW: I do not care if someone is a Christian or not. I only care if they are hypocrites, which I despise.

True, and if only they'd take time to read their Bibles, while scrutinizing themselves, instead of the other person, they'd see that Jesus will make it abundantly clear that he doesn't know them, when the time comes...that is exactly what he meant when he said "do not judge"...do not judge others for what you, yourself do...

@ CINO

Is that your own invention - or is it an official title?

That is where the 2 greatest commandments come into play...love your God and love your neighbor...God tells us to not take a human life so we would want to obey Him and we certainly would not kill our neighbor, which is just another word for another human being...

CINO = Christians who don't live the way atheists think they should.

As you know, I do not believe in the hocus pocus side of Jesus. But, I damned well do believe in his lessons on forgiveness, turning the other cheek, not being boastful about worship, and judging others unless what they do directly affects me--I call that being mindful of those who can do you harm.

Sad when an atheist knows Jesus better than those who LOUDLY profess their love for him.

Great idea, when are you going to start?

The support for abortion restrictions is like the support for slavery two centuries ago. It requires some creative interpretations of scripture which does not address the topic at all directly. There is room for a reversal of opinion on the matter and still be in bounds.
