What is your religion?
Just as a simple question.
The poll is anonymous, of course.
Nobody has to answer openly in the forum.
If you click onto any of the options, nobody will know from where the click came.

On the other hand - why not say so.
I have no problem to say that I have been baptized as a Catholic.
But I am interested in other religions as well.

So far we have: 1 Catholic and 1 Protestant! :)
So: 50 percent each! :)

The best brand my fellow Americans have applied to my Christianity is probably 'fundamental, Bible-believing, truth and righteousness promoting modern Christian disciple of Jesus Christ.'

I'm a Deist

It makes the most sense to me

belief in the existence of a supreme being, specifically of a creator who does not intervene in the universe. The term is used chiefly of an intellectual movement of the 17th and 18th centuries that accepted the existence of a creator on the basis of reason but rejected belief in a supernatural deity who interacts with humankind.

None, completely by choice and entirely because of studying history.

I just want to point out that I tried to be a member of a non-denominational church LIVING TRUTH on tv.
It was its Pastor Charles Price (now retired), who was instrumental in bringing me back to God, and making it seem so easy
to read and understand the Bible (that I opened up my bible and read ever since that day). Btw, Charles Price was a former skeptic or atheist(?).
I'm now like my dad....reading a part of the Bible everyday (for the rest of my life that I am able to).

However, Charles Price told me that it's important for me to find a church close by that I may participate in the worshipping.
My hubby and I had chosen the Baptist church, since we find that it's the denomination that tries to adhere to the Bible as closely as it can.

We opted to be baptized again (as a statement that we come to God voluntarily, of our own free will), and that He is our God, and we belong to Him.

OK - and what are you then?
Other - or none?

None. I'm solo-no-relig-o.

I don't need to have a handful of people I never met from thousands of years ago telling me how to live my life. I enjoy my life as I please, respect my fellow man and use my own moral compass and critical thinking instead of abdicating it to strangers. I'm happy, fulfilled, have a nice career and family and have no fear of death.

Religion is for people too lazy to craft their own personal philosophy.

So 6 out of 11 voted for "none" so far.
That is a big overall majority of 54.55%

Would you have expected that?

Although baptised as an infant into the Orthodox Church, I am an Agnostic. I have no idea whether there are higher order beings effecting and affecting humanity's path on this Earth. So I'm ignorant and humbly proud of it. I choose to be kind and generous to others and I choose to follow a personal honour code strongly rooted in the Judeo-Christian tradition. However there is no capacity within me to believe in the supernatural dimensions of the Judeo-Christian tradition. I have read the Bibles (different versions), the Apocrypha, numerous gospels, hagiographies galore, the documents of other ancient faiths, religious histories and much, much more (Islamic, Buddhist and Hindu texts); so while I have some knowledge of religion, I lack the faith to be a participant in any of them.

Cheers.
Evilroddy.

Side issue: I’ve always been confused why Hinduism isn’t considered one of the Big Three religions of the World... since it literally is. After Hinduism it’s Buddhism. Judaism is like #6 after “other”, yet is considered one of the Big Three.

I am kind of Christian and kind of none of the above. I believe in God 100 percent, and i believe the world would be better if we followed the teachings of Jesus. Yet, i don't subscribe to organized religion. IMO, religion is a human institution intended to control believers.

"None" atheist or agnostic. Many people can have strong spiritual beliefs and not belong to a specific religion. It was a toss up for me to choose either "other" or "none".

It's because the people doing that categorization really only considered the Abrahamic religions.

What list are you using?

World’s largest religion by population is still Christianity | Pew Research Center

We’re not understanding each other and perhaps I wasn’t clear. Hindu is the 3rd largest, and after that it’s Buddhism. I meant that ‘after the third largest (Hinduism) it’s Buddhism’.

Thanks for the clarification, but I meant "who is claiming a "Big Three" list?"

Ah, I see. A quick Google search:

“Christianity, Judaism, and Islam are the three major religions in the world. They are known as Abrahamic religions because their founders, or major figures, are descended from Abraham. People in one of the religions can sometimes dislike people in one of the other religions.”

“Three of the world's major religions -- the monotheist traditions of Judaism, Christianity, and Islam -- were all born in the Middle East and are all inextricably linked to one another. Christianity was born from within the Jewish tradition, and Islam developed from both Christianity and Judaism.”

I get the Abrahamic qualifier, but it’s often left out when talking about ‘major’ religions.

So I did the right thing when I included Hinduism. :)

Yes, but you gave Christianity like four spots. :)

Certainly the divide between Sunni and Shiite Islam is wider than in most denominations of Christianity.

The first quote is obviously wrong but it's also not in the link. The linked quote is correct: "Three of the world's major religions..."
