What would Jesus Do?

And who else but the RCC has put him up on that pedestal, claiming his divinity, infallibility, and apostolic succession?

Who else but his believers has put Jesus up on that pedestal, claiming his divinity and infallibility?

It wasn't the same people who put Charlie T. Russel on his pedestal, that's for sure, claiming he was a Bible student.

Religion meets celebrity.

This little clip shows the epitome of idolatry that the Catholic Church represents.

You'd swear the Pope was God Himself.

What do you mean by wwjd? The Pope is mere human just like the rest of us.

Yep, he is a human being. Go say five hail mary's and you will be forgive.

Um, that's not what the RCC believes...he's divine, he's infallible, and he's in direct apostolic succession to Peter...

Fundamentally different and therefore not suited to comparison...

Getting mad and tearing up the temple was an out-of-character action. Did Jesus do it on purpose in order to push up his execution or did he really lose his temper?

As for the Pope, the action of the woman appeared to surprise, scare and hurt Francis. His reaction was both restrained and human.

Jesus had a true zeal for his Father's house...the Pope's actions were selfish...

Why should the pope’s actions be found selfish?

Tearing up the temple was an act of anger, not "zeal".

How were they selfish?

The account states differently...I'll believe God's Word...

Why should the pope’s actions be found selfish?

What did he have to gain by smacking the woman as though she were a little child?

"Love is patient and kind. Love is not jealous. It does not brag, does not get puffed up, does not behave indecently, does not look for its own interests, does not become provoked." 1 Corinthians 13:4,5

His reaction was human. And, although I don't think this has been pointed out, he apologized. Since I heard about this last night and watched the clip, I've tried to imagine someone yanking on Queen Elizabeth's arm or a President's. You just don't do that. I'm no fan of Francis, but be fair. He's 85, and he may have arthritis in that hand or feared falling. We don't know.

As for what you claim the RCC believes, a pope is divine, that is a hard no.

The circumstances of infallibility are extremely limited and extraordinary. Papal infallibility - Wikipedia

They do believe in Apostolic Succession. So do other denominations such as the Anglicans.

Thanks Nota, I am glad to hear he apologized and yes, we as imperfect humans, do things we regret and are truly sorry for...as for his divinity, I have read differently...

Speaking of the pope...

"of such dignity and highness that he is not simply a man but, as it were, God, and the Vicar of God.” ” His crown is a triple crown “as king of heaven, of earth and of hell.” “The pope is, as it were, God on earth, the only prince of the faithful of Christ, the greatest king of all kings.” “The pope can sometimes counteract the divine law.”

New Haven Divinity and Protestantism - Google Books

And it doesn't matter who believes it, it doesn't make it true if God's Word does not support it...

And all that means is that Bishops and Priests are consecrated and ordained by a Bishop who was consecrated by another Bishop, etc., etc. going all the way back to Christ and the Apostles. It's not magic.

lol...IMO, the pope was disgusted by sycophancy.

The cynic in me says he only wants your money, not your devotion.

The pope is not paid.

Why isn't Jesus doing anything now?

What you have read is mistaken and also heretical.

Right.

Who knew that you could “piss off the Pope?”

That is not what numerous references state...

The Pope Claims to be God on Earth | Papal Infallibility

And considering the heresies the RRC teaches, which the Bible in no way supports, it does cast doubt...

Number one, you have misunderstood those "references". I don't believe they claim what you think they do. In Roman times, Caesar was said to be God, not the Pope.

And considering the heresies the Jehovah's Witnesses cult teaches, which the Bible in no way supports, it does cast doubt on your claims.

Well, let me think here. Do I accept what the Catholics say about Papal authority, or do I take the word of anti-Catholic protestants word about what Papal authority is? Do I look at some anti-Catholic site, an old Presbyterian sermon, or do I listen to the Cathlics about what the Catholics believe?

When it comes to what Catholics believe, I will accept what the Catholics say their beliefs are first.

Since Catholics themselves made such claims, I guess you'll be taking their word for it then...
