Trump's Border Issue from a Christian's Standpoint

It will happen here is what I am saying because we are no exception to the rule, so enjoy...

We don't have to be conquered, it is our own free will.

They are putting themselves out of business along with other companies because they demand college degrees which causes kids to have high amounts of debt which will keep them from buying their products. and devalues the degrees the kids get.

You don't need a degree to flip burgers at Micky Dees.
It used to be a schoolkids job.

If you are an adult working for minimum wage, you made some pretty shi-ty decisions in your life.

When I was in management at fast food joints in the 1980's, when I was in my twenties, we hired many elderly adults that worked at McD's....They had not made any mistakes or poor choices except getting old...

Oh well.
As I grew up, we had one of the first McDonalds in my neighborhood in Chicago.
Everyone worked there at one time or another, kids, highschool and college.
But they moved on to better things.

Try being in management without a degree. Hell, they want you to have a degree at the chicken killing plants to run a line. I never finished my degree and did just fine in management.

A store manager at McD's can earn 50k a year.

Yes, one person can make money.
Not a burger flipper, or a cashier, these are minimum wage kids jobs.
The point is that they are low or no skill, minimum wage jobs.
Made for kids steppingstone jobs, to prepare them for the real world.
A manager can make money, not much, if he wants to devote his life to it.

How are you going to live on 50k anyways.

When I was making 50k it was great,....35 years ago.

If they were made for kids what kids work the day shift?

College kids, young adults, even dropouts, ( Im' guessing) they were always there.
Naturally there would be some older people there, but the main workforce was kids.

College age humans are not kids, under eighteen are kids....Dropouts can be kids yet the companies do not allow humans under eighteen to operate any machinery. In the 1980's when I was in management there were zero under eighteen age workers in the daytime, and where I lived there were no local colleges and we had people working there in their twenties and thirties. Why in fact the franchise owner was over forty..

Well obviously we grew up in different times.
An adult had no business working there unless he was a real loser who could not make a paycheck anywhere else.

Look who is there today,,, adults with no skills..but adult immigrants willing to work.

I was no loser and gained valuable experience in management and being the bookkeeper/auditor on the night shift. What you are trying to do shame people for trying to earn money which is sad indeed..

No I am not, I am stressing it was a steppingstone job, not a career.
Now it is being used as a career by adults with no other skills.

Jesus Himself did not respect human authority. He was punished with crucifixion. Remember that part?

It is fiolish to manipulate scripture for a political agenda. I take it then that you regret your doing so in the OP and won't be voting Republican?

I did not manipulate anything.

But .........it is very foolish to try to make claims about something that only makes the ignorance of the Scriptures quite obvious. It's a dead give-away!

Lol. Here's how gave it away:

How did He not respect human authority?
When He was arrested, didn't He stop His disciples from preventing it? Didn't He go with the arresting officers?

Luke 22
Jesus Arrested

47 While he was still speaking a crowd came up, and the man who was called Judas, one of the Twelve, was leading them. He approached Jesus to kiss him,
48 but Jesus asked him, “Judas, are you betraying the Son of Man with a kiss?”

49 When Jesus’ followers saw what was going to happen, they said, “Lord, should we strike with our swords?”
50 And one of them struck the servant of the high priest, cutting off his right ear.

51 But Jesus answered, “No more of this!” And he touched the man’s ear and healed him.

52 Then Jesus said to the chief priests, the officers of the temple guard, and the elders, who had come for him, “Am I leading a rebellion, that you have come with swords and clubs?
53 Every day I was with you in the temple courts, and you did not lay a hand on me. But this is your hour—when darkness reigns.”

Furthermore, Pontius Pilate and Herod (the government authorities), did not find Him guilty of anything, remember?

John 19
4 Once more Pilate came out and said to the Jews gathered there, “Look, I am bringing him out to you to let you know that
I find no basis for a charge against him.”
5 When Jesus came out wearing the crown of thorns and the purple robe, Pilate said to them, “Here is the man!”

6 As soon as the chief priests and their officials saw him, they shouted, “Crucify! Crucify!”

But Pilate answered, “You take him and crucify him. As for me, I find no basis for a charge against him.”

Luke 22
23 Then the whole assembly rose and led him off to Pilate.
2 And they began to accuse him, saying, “We have found this man subverting our nation. He opposes payment of taxes to Caesar and claims to be Messiah, a king.”

3 So Pilate asked Jesus, “Are you the king of the Jews?”

“You have said so,” Jesus replied.

4 Then Pilate announced to the chief priests and the crowd,
“I find no basis for a charge against this man.”

5 But they insisted, “He stirs up the people all over Judea by his teaching. He started in Galilee and has come all the way here.”

6 On hearing this, Pilate asked if the man was a Galilean.
7 When he learned that Jesus was under Herod’s jurisdiction, he sent him to Herod, who was also in Jerusalem at that time.

8 When Herod saw Jesus, he was greatly pleased, because for a long time he had been wanting to see him. From what he had heard about him, he hoped to see him perform a sign of some sort.
9 He plied him with many questions, but Jesus gave him no answer.
10 The chief priests and the teachers of the law were standing there, vehemently accusing him.
11 Then Herod and his soldiers ridiculed and mocked him. Dressing him in an elegant robe, they sent him back to Pilate.
12 That day Herod and Pilate became friends—before this they had been enemies.

13 Pilate called together the chief priests, the rulers and the people,
14 and said to them, “You brought me this man as one who was inciting the people to rebellion.
I have examined him in your presence and have found no basis for your charges against him.
15 Neither has Herod, for he sent him back to us; as you can see, he has done nothing to deserve death.

Jesus was murdered.

When did Jesus take babies away from their mothers?

“And the King will say, ‘I tell you the truth, when you did it to one of the least of these my brothers and sisters, you were doing it to me!’
Matthew 25:40

I have no problems about having the laws but the inhumane treatment I do have an issue with.

"Inhumane" is another term that's lost its true meaning - thanks to liberals!
What exactly is the inhumane treatment? That they are in "cages?" They are confined?

They broke the law by entering illegally! There is nothing wrong in punishing law-breakers according to the law of the land.

1. 1 Peter 2:13-17 For the Lord’s sake, submit to all human authority—whether the king as head of state, or the officials he has appointed.
For the king has sent them to punish those who do wrong and to honor those who do right. It is God’s will that your honorable lives should silence those ignorant people who make foolish accusations against you.

3. Romans 13:3-5 For rulers are not a terror to good works, but to the evil. Wilt thou then not be afraid of the power?
do that which is good, and thou shalt have praise of the same: For he is the minister of God to thee for good. But if thou do that which is evil, be afraid; for he beareth not the sword in vain: for he is the minister of God, a revenger to execute wrath upon him that doeth evil. Wherefore ye must needs be subject, not only for wrath, but also for conscience sake.

If you don’t understand what inhumane means I suggest you try to learn exactly what it means and stop making excuses for poor treatment of fellow humans based upon your imposition of ignorance via a political philosophy.

33 For God is not a God of confusion but of peace.
As in all the churches of the saints,][/B][/COLOR]

Well nothing like a brutal dictatorial tyrant to get rid of any confusion and impose some peace, that’s for sure.

Jesus was murdered.

Yet, at the same time, Jesus refused to acknowledge the roman emperors as gods. Jesus respected human authority inso-far as it did not work against his own teachings. The same is true in this case with immigration, even within the government itself. Yes, crossing the border illegally is a crime. However, asylum laws have always stated, and even under Trump still do state, despite their being undermined, that those who are escaping some clear physical harm in their home country have a right to asylum, despite their having broken the law. The argument that illegal immigration is wrong because Jesus respected laws, and laws say illegal immigration is, well, "illegal", is ridiculous. Firstly, we decide whether laws are moral or not, in a democracy the government isn't some abstract entity, it's indirectly run by us. Secondly, even in the U.S. immigration laws, illegal immigration is seen as justified, when they are escaping physical abuse or hardship. You can quote the bible all day, but the reality is that Jesus wasn't making a rulebook, he was laying out a way of life.

He was, but the point is the Pharisees and Romans saw him as a threat.

Going medieval on the money changers showed that he didn't much care for their authority.

Such anger shown at that. That's quite the sin.

The best part of this thread is seeing the argument that Christians should be more like the Romans. It's like watching an interview with Mike Huckabee when he acts in ways that are completely opposite of anything Jesus ever taught. It's ****ing awesome!
