Response to Atheist Apologist Paulogia's "Did Disciples Die Saying Jesus Rose?"

No thanks. IMO, religion and logic aren't even in the same area code.

Based on your opinion - I think this subject is way over your head.
This is meant to be philosophical - not some juvenile banterings.

Bye.

Thank you. You proved my point!

Your belief is simply based on....................... PURE FAITH!

Of course you'd say that - you've got nothing to point to!

Therefore, you shouldn't be asking religious people for any proof to their belief either!

Religious people have a ground to stand on, science-wise - after all, science has not ruled out the possibility of a
God Creator - in fact, science had put that possibility on the table!

At least, religious people can point to that FACT!

You atheists on the other hand, are certainly not in any position to question or mock the basis of others' faith.
If there's any faith that can be mocked, it would be yours!

Unlike the religious - you cannot point to anything!
You can't even agree with science!

All you have are the straws you try to grab every now and then.

It's kinda like criticizing the zit on someone's chin when you've got a big wart on yours!

I would consider my belief to be based on common sense. I don't have to contort myself into knots to prove my non belief. I don't care if people believe in a god or ten gods, it's just not for me.

What is so difficult to understand? I don't believe in a god, you do. It's not me insisting there is no god and you are incorrect. It's you insisting there is a god and I'm incorrect and yet what you blame me for not believing, you can't prove a god exists. And please, but the bible says so is not proof.

Bye.

You said "...Because they had seen the risen Jesus! They had seen...……. there is life after death!"

Standard organized religion comeback. It's about philosophy! If you are saying bye, don't expect to see me in heaven or hell...they don't exist.

Read the OP's explanation, and use logic.

logic like your basing the truth of the resurrection claims on the claims of how the characters in the bible acted after the crucifixion story?

I would consider my belief to be based on common sense.

When you practically go contrary with science? Lol. That puts a question on your critical thinking, doesn't it?

What that suggests is you're simply.......digging in. That's called bull-headedness, not common sense.

I don't have to either.

HOWEVER, I'm in a forum!
I'm responding to your demand for me to prove the validity of the Scriptures!
You've taken the task to question mine!

I have millions of proof - in the form of personal testimonies from those who'd had personal "encounters" with God - and that includes me! I've had NUMEROUS experiences with God -

in fact, I may be in the middle of another one (but I've got to verify it first!)!
I will know by the end of this month! If it is, I'll give my testimony!

Testimonies fall under what the National Academy of Sciences had termed, "religious experience."

The National Academy of Sciences also says:

"Science is not the only way of acquiring knowledge about ourselves and the world around us. Humans gain understanding in many other ways, such as through literature, the arts, philosophical reflection, and religious experience.

Scientific knowledge may enrich aesthetic and moral perceptions, but these subjects extend beyond science's realm, which is to obtain a better understanding of the natural world."

What I'm saying,

you have no solid ground to stand on to cast any doubt or to question the validity of my God when you don't have
anything at all to support your faith!

You don't believe, fine.

What's all the point of your questions to me? You're the one who responded to my posts, remember?
You kept harping about the guy who was in the whale for 3 days!
What was your response when I explained nothing is impossible with God? What was that all about?

So your final argument as usual is that Magic fixes everything.

Actually I said fish, like 'the bible' says, not whale. You started the thread by asking atheists to prove their isn't a god, so I responded since I'm an atheist. Nothing is impossible with god is not an acceptable answer. It's like saying nothing is impossible if you believe in peter pan.

If you don't accept what the NATIONAL ACADEMY OF SCIENCEShad explained -

on what authority do you base your belief?

The Academy of Sciences is acknowledging that you can't prove mythical beings don't exist.

If I believe Santa Claus is a god, do you agree that he exists?

Kindly answer that before we move on.

Yes, please do.

Lol. Read the title of this thread, and the OP!

…..and I've said, it doesn't surprise me that you'd say something like that.

You're just regurgitating what we've already covered...…..I suppose, we're done here?

Hello?
You must've missed this part from my response above - I'm posting it again:

Hello? No, I didn't and I asked you two questions regarding the topic. Do you not understand?

If you don't accept what the NATIONAL ACADEMY OF SCIENCES had explained -

Kindly answer that before we move on.

Why? You chose to completely ignore my questions, so I'll treat yours with the same level of contempt you showed mine. Do you want to debate, or do you just want to yank chains?

That'll happen when people are trying to justify their belief in invisible magical beings. The internet has killed all their best arguments. Anyone can look them up, and see their flaws in a matter of minutes.

Which leaves the believers with ... yanking people's chains.

That''ll happen when people are trying to justify their reasons for not believing in the True God and Creator of all things...truth of the Bible kills all their best arguments regardless of all their bending and twisting of what they want it to say, instead of it's true meaning...

LMFAO! You think you need to justify not believing in Santa Claus, the True God and Creator of all things. Hilarious! Thanks Elvira, you made my day. :2razz:

Of course you do...why else would you be here day after day attempting to justify your lack of belief? Shhhhhh...nobody cares...

I'm not trying to justify anything. That's the great thing about being an atheist, we don't believe in magical invisible beings like Santa Claus or Yahweh or Jesus. So we don't have to justify believing in them.

I'm just here to debate, like everyone else.

Shhhhhh...nobody cares...

Obviously you do, you've been replying to almost every one of my posts, even the ones not involving you. :2razz:

Why would anyone bother trying to prove the resurrection didn't happen? he burden of proof is on those who claim it did.

Paulogia doesn't try to prove anything. He discusses what evidence actually exists for various Christian claims. In this case, The Resurrection. He's really good, and is getting attention from the big boys. William Lane Craig is now responding to Paulogia videos (and having to resort to ad homs).

A common Christian claim is that when the disciples were about to be put to death, they were given the chance to recant seeing the risen Jesus to save their lives, but refused to do so choosing death. Christians claim this as very strong evidence that the disciples saw the risen Jesus and The Resurrection occurred.

In discussing this issue, Paulogia gives his basic criteria for which disciples would qualify:

1. They saw the resurrected Jesus
2. They had a chance to save their lives by recanting
3. Rather than recant, they chose to die

Turns out not one of the disciples can meet these three criteria. Not one.

I really cant be bothered to watch the video but from your description it is a waste of time because the claims are not evidence of the resurrection and well there isn't any evidence the claims are true in any case

Yeah, that's kind of the point of the video. He goes through Christian videos which are making typical claims, and exposes the fallacies. In this case it was a Christian making the claim and providing the evidence that Jesus was Resurrected.
