Kanye West - Con Man???

Not sure why this is funny. Assuming that Kanye has given his life to Christ, he is at the very beginning of his journey. He is work in progress, as are we all.

You don't think it's funny that Kanye thinks of himself as "the greatest artist god ever created"?

Isn't there something about humility is christianity?

Con men gravitate toward other con men...

So as not to cause issues in the Theology thread on Kanye, let's do this here.

To start:

The 30 Richest Pastors and Televangelists in the World - mydailyviral.com

So what's Kanye doing? Cashing in big time?

How's he different than Joel Osteen or any of the others who make crap-tons of money from religion?

Should he be respected, or viewed with a great deal of caution? Or is he flat out a con?

Or, is it too early to tell just yet?

From my perspective I just can't stand anything about him, or his whole deal, and his schtick.
So I view it all as nothing more than a money making machine with little to no substance or sincerity behind it.

Well, he's a rapper, not a preacher for one. I wouldn't call him a con man at all; I just think that his state of mind fluctuates significantly. Like, his new ablum Jesus is King (which isn't very good by the way), is really more about his state of mind to me, than an actual gospel album.

Why isn't he a "preacher"?

What defines who is a preacher?

Unless you want to use a really generalized and loose definition of preacher, than sure, he is one. But then by that standard, so would anyone else be that speaks about their respective religion. I definitely wouldn't ever consider Kanye anything close to a "preacher". That definition fits more in like with Joel Olsteen or Creflo Dollar.

Con men gravitate toward other con men...

Couldn't agree more. We're witness to it every day.

I'll go with great deal of caution. Who really knows what goes on in people's heads? But, just the same, I tend to take my religious instruction from non-millionaires. I'll refrain from judging beyond that.

The fact that I didn't have a lot of time for KW prior to this probably isn't helping...hehe...

To say that's he was a bit of a Looney Tune before all this is putting things mildly isn't it?

lol...yeah, I mean...it's Kanye West. Give it six months, and he'll have moved on to another album and another branding strategy. In the meantime, he'll make a ton of money off of Christian white kids, who can now finally convince their super religious parents to let them buy a hip hop album.

Of course, I could be completely wrong...it could be legit, and good for him if he's found meaning... I dunno... Ugh. This is why I'm glad I'm not responsible for judging folks.

I don't know why Kanye is a topic subject today, but the difference between Kanye and the straight-up con artists (like the Trump Family) is that Kanye has a product and marketable talent. He is genuinely gifted. Most con men are just straight-up con men.

I think Kayne's for real, although time will tell. Skeptics don't understand the life-changing power of the Holy Spirit.

But if you want a real con man just follow serial liar Adam Schiff and his herd of stiff-necked, left-wing idiots.

The possiblitiy of it being ephemeral does not mean that the effort is not sincere. On the other hand, his past shows he's flawed and has bipolar disorder. If this helps him concentrate and give a focus to counter that condition, fine, but I wouldn't bet on it.
