Was Shakespeare a divine being?

I'm joking, yes, I riot when I write and you should too, I was almost a standup comedian in Las Vegas.

But seriously, my monkey came up with this typing at random.

If you can't tell when I'm serious, or rather not serious, you should go join the Hare Krishnas and get your senses cleaned out a little bit.

Hypothetically, you couldn't tell this was serious.

If I tell you I am serious I appear to be cracking up.

The above post is certainly correct and 2/5 mine.

Laugh, I nearly started!

My large if old book of quotations, The New Dictionary of Thoughts (1955), includes separate sections for familiar sayings from both the Bible and William Shakespeare. Given his remarkable insights into the human condition, could Shakespeare be considered as divine as any of the people quoted in the Bible?

Shakespear's ability to capture the essence of the human condition, the key characteristics and ideals that compose the essentials of human existence, in his works is a testimony to his own successes.

Of course, you wicked doubters. Repent and To His Own Self be true!

Emmylou Harris has the voice of an angel, and I do indeed worship her, so I guess that makes her divine as well.

Sorry you feel that way about it.

Maybe I shouldn't be talking about him?

All I've done is caused people to make offense?

Shouldn't that be to take offense?

Well now you've got three continuums to believe in.

Will the real Exquistor please stand up?

By being totally serious and on the fact I can appear to be joking or an offense.

How do you know what an angel sounds like ?

You mean she sounds how you perceive an angel to sound like.

Why are you asking yourself questions?

And that proves human bias - the willingness to bend reality to personal belief.

Yup, happens all the time.

Just as an aside, I think the worst violators, in terms of reality bending, are flat-earthers. At least religious people admit that the thing they believe in can not be seen. Flat-earthers have no such excuse. They have to deny the reality that is literally staring them in the face to hold to their views.

I think flat Earthers are basically have a laugh at our expense...those that believe it are clinically delusional and probably believe in aliens as well. Which brings me to why flat Earther's accept that other planets are spherical.

To be fair, if I walk outside and take a look, the earth seems pretty damn level. It took some effort for the ancients to figure out we were on a roughly spherical object.

The thing that I find amusing is how much effort the flat earthers put into learning all the arguments for their position. Surely less effort than it would take to, for example, take a class in stellar navigation or on the math behind how GPS works or any other skill that only works because we are almost certainly right that the earth is roughly spherical.

But separating 'religious' and 'flat earthers' is a little weird since the popularity of flat earthism is strongest in certain fundamentalist circles that (correctly) read certain ancient scriptures as assuming a flat earth.

Really ?

Why can't you see cities or mountains over 20 odd miles away ?
Lots of trees where I live. Near objects obscuring farther objects. If I am in the foothills, I can't see the mountain top even though it is taller because it is obscured by smaller but nearer things.

Distant things get smaller because of perspective/inverse square law, etc. No one thinks 'flat' means 'featureless'.

All I am saying is that it wasn't obvious and it took some work to figure out. If it were easy, everyone would have done it.

One could also ask: did you yourself figure out that the world was spherical, or did some book or teacher tell you and you just believed them? (Whether or not you have since made observations that are consistent with this idea.) And if the latter, how is that substantially different than a flat earther getting sucked into a website that convinced them just because they read a thing or watched some videos?

Most of us routinely accept the 'verification' done by (some) others as part of our epistemology. But if all the allegations back and forth about 'fake news' teach me anything, it is that real verification is hard.

So you just enjoy posting nonsense. Got it. Nothing more to discuss.

Nonsense, I make serious posts with a little humor.

You just have nothing to discuss, because you're an Atheist.

I can't tell your unintentional humor from your intentional humor. That is a problem with the content of your posts.
