The Qur'an was sent to mankind as a warning (so Muslims believe), and its content does not disappoint on that score. The most repeated theme is "believe in the one true god or burn in Hell".

So, check out this WTF verse (2:6) that says, "As to those who reject Faith, it is the same to them whether thou warn them or do not warn them; they will not believe". This is a clear admission by God that the entire exercise of revealing the Qur'an to Mohamed is an exercise in futility.

Proof that the Qur'an was written by a frustrated man rather than a god becomes more and more apparent with each reading of it.

Isn't this pretty much what Calvinists believe?

Did Plato or Socrates ever come up with something so cockamamie?

God is a cop-out.

We see a little potency we don't understand and say, "Is God."

Scriptures about the supreme person are cryptic and fantastic and when the ignorant come in contact, think they have found the only true way.

Just because the Bible says something doest mean its true.

Pretty standard stuff for the Abrahamic religions. I prefer the more peaceful religions. Like Jains.

You never hear about Jains burning witches at the stake, or stoning non-believers. Or sacrificing humans to their god.

That's almost as crazy as some of the passages in the Bible.

It isn't this verse that tells us god didn't write it. It is the fact that there is no god to author any books at all.

Carrot and stick.

burning in hell is the stick, raping 72 virgins would be the carrot.

Anyone here actually studied Islam or any other of the Abrahamic religions? And by study I do not mean a 15 minute Google session?

The Devil doesn't need to make any counterfeit scripture, he just uses the ones God writes.

How could He ever be coherent with all the knowledge of everything always pouring through His mind?

Yup. I've spent the better part of 2 decades reading the Qur'an and Islamic history (when I'm not working on my short game and putting).

What does the Koran say about Jesus and for Elvira's sake do you happen to have the chapter and verse ?

4:171 - Jesus Christ the son of Mary was no more than a messenger of Allah....say not 'Trinity.
5:72 - They do blaspheme who say Allah is Christ the son of Mary.
5:73 - They do blaspheme who say Allah in one of three in a trinity.
6:101 - How can God have a son if he has no partner?.
17:111 - Allah, who begets no son.
19:30 - He [Jesus] said: Surely I am a servant of Allah; He has given me the Book and made me a prophet.
19:35 - It befits not (the Majesty of) Allah that He should beget a son.
19:88-89 - They say: "(Allah) Most Gracious has begotten a son. Indeed ye have put forth a thing most monstrous"!

There are more, they're all variations of the above.
