And, how do you know that?

Because I know what the Bible says about him...

"You are from your father the Devil, and you wish to do the desires of your father. That one was a murderer when he began, and he did not stand fast in the truth, because truth is not in him. When he speaks the lie, he speaks according to his own disposition, because he is a liar and the father of the lie." John 8:44

"The one who practices sin originates with the Devil, because the Devil has been sinning from the beginning. For this purpose the Son of God was made manifest, to break up the works of the Devil." 1 John 3:8

"Therefore, since the “young children” are sharers of blood and flesh, he also similarly shared in the same things, so that through his death he might bring to nothing the one having the means to cause death, that is, the Devil," Hebrews 2:14

And, how do you know that that two separate authors of the Gospel of John, and 1 John are not lying?

That's funny, I thought the Devil was once a good angel. How could he have been sinning from the beginning?

From the beginning, as when he became known as Satan...:doh

No, the beginning is when he was created by god., who also knew what he would become.

Wrong...

By “the beginning” John clearly means the beginning of Satan’s career of opposition, even as “beginning” is used to refer to the start of the discipleship of Christians at 1 John 2:7; 3:11. John’s words show that, once having introduced sin, Satan continued his sinful course. Hence, any person that “makes sin his business or practice” reveals himself to be a ‘child’ of the Adversary, spiritual offspring reflecting the qualities of his “father.”—The Expositor’s Greek Testament, edited by W. R. Nicoll, 1967, Vol. V, p. 185; Joh 8:44; 1Jo 3:10-12.

From the beginning, as when he became known as Satan...:doh

You know know that Satan means in the original Hebrew, don't you?

The beginning is the beginning of existence for the good angel who became the devil. Being the devil was not a career choice, it was built into the free will god gave the angel Free will always leads to disobedience, which god knew full well. The whole thing was a setup.

I voted, "some other answer - please explain." I think Mother Teresa was a Catholic nun who did the best job she could and who the media turned into a worldwide celebrity. Her celebrity status led to a public demand to elevate her in the history of the Catholic Church and the Vatican capitulated to take advantage of the positive press.

Of course...

And, you know, in the Jewish religion, from which you get the concept, angels do not have free will, and can not fall, right?

I am not a Jew...

Yet, your religion's scripture is a translation of the original Jewish scriptures.

And I also have the Christian Greek Scriptures, which you do not believe, so that influences your beliefs, as well as mine...no meeting of the minds will there be...

Yet, you make statements that are not supported by the Christian Greek scriptures. For example, the claim that 'Satan was not created by God' is quite strange, and a twisting of all scripture.

Wrong...the Bible in its entirety support the fact that Satan was a perfect angel who fell, just like the symbolic words concerning the king of Tyre describes in Ezekiel 28...

15 You were faultless in your ways from the day you were created
Until unrighteousness was found in you.

16 Because of your abundant trade,
You became filled with violence, and you began to sin.
So I will cast you out as profane from the mountain of God and destroy you,
O covering cherub, away from the stones of fire.

17 Your heart became haughty because of your beauty.
You corrupted your wisdom because of your own glorious splendor.

I will throw you down to the earth.
I will make you a spectacle before kings.

18 Because of your great guilt and your dishonest trading, you have profaned your sanctuaries.
I will cause a fire to break out in your midst, and it will consume you.
I will reduce you to ashes on the earth before all those looking at you.

19 All who knew you among the peoples will stare at you in amazement.
Your end will be sudden and terrible,
And you will cease to exist for all time.”’”

From this we see how the covering cherub in Eden developed an impure heart condition and was lifted up with pride at all the wonderful endowments he received from Jehovah God. He became blinded by this and engaged in a wrongful course. The covering cherub became selfish and wanted to be worshiped just as God was by Adam and Eve. Greedy for selfish gain, he was willing to capture Adam and Eve, take them away from God and sell them into the service of sin for the price of worship of him as god. He did violence to the interests of Adam and Eve by murderously lying to them and turning them to the course that would lead to their destruction and to death of all their offspring. For this great crime the covering cherub, grown proud and selfish, brings destruction upon himself, which was foreshadowed in Ezekiel 28 by the destruction of the king of Tyre. It was not God who created Satan the Devil. The anointed covering cherub in Eden made himself that wicked one.

Thus Satan the Devil, the liar and slanderer, came into existence, and at the time of Adam and Eve’s joining together and eating of the forbidden fruit a corrupt world came into existence. Satan the Devil became the god of the corrupt system of things. From that time onward the worlds that have existed have been worlds under the jurisdiction of Satan the Devil, worlds based on lies, deception, violence, greed and murder. Through his lies, violence and deception Satan has maintained control of the wicked system of things and has done everything possible to try to corrupt those whom Almighty God has brought into the worship of himself in purity and truth. The Bible tells us that Satan transforms himself into an angel of light in order to try to deceive creatures.

Uh, that's not talking about Satan. The writers of the JW web site should be ashamed of themselves. In fact, Ezk. 28:12 specifically mentions who God was referring to in Ezk 28:15. Why do they lie? It specifically states in ezk 28:12 that God was telling man Man to mock the king of Tyre, the the comparison to a Cherub was an allegory referring to the power that the King of Tyre had.

Look at the context....

12"Son of man, raise a lamentation over the king of Tyre and say to him, So said the Lord God: You are the one who engraves images, full of wisdom and perfect in beauty.
13In Eden, the garden of God you were; every precious stone was [set in] your covering; ruby, topaz, diamond, chrysolite, onyx, and jasper, sapphire, carbuncle, and crystal and gold; the work of your drums and your orifices is in you; on the day of your creation they were established.
14You were a cherub of great measure, that covers, and I gave that to you; you were on the mount of the sanctuary of God: you walked among stones of fire.

ANd, guess what.. your claim is false. The attempt to twist the words fails.
