This episode took place last week in Portland and it is very interesting to watch because of the lessons it teaches about what happens when you surrender sacred doctrine and try to make the church “of the world”
So last year this “Catholic” parish in Portland got assigned a new priest, a Nigerian immigrant who is genuine holy man of God with a love for souls, and being a man of God with a love of souls he must’ve been truly alarmed at what he saw. This parish was openly celebrating mortal sins like homosexual sex and defiance of church authority, the church was being used for advocacy of non faith related political issues like illegal immigration and resistance to our rightful president. So the Priest did what any holy man of God who loves souls would do, he removed the political banners and imagery, removed banners celebrating the gay lifestyle, he also brought back reverence to the mass, these people were adding their own supplements to the Nicene creed! they were even standing instead of kneeling during consecration. So Father Kurofiji begins changing this, and how do the older liberal parishioners respond? They storm the church with picket signs during mass and sing “we shall overcome” to their (black) priest.
(This is your brain leftism folks)
So what’s the lesson here? If your church is descending into heresy you need leadership willing to make the tough decisions many parishioners are leaving this particular church it sounds like, but it needed to happen. It makes no sense for religious congregations to tolerate people who don’t believe in the doctrines of the faith because they will destroy the faith from inside.
The video linked in the Oregon live article had the most telling clip, this feminist is saying something that doesn’t matter to Father Kurofiji and he says “do you have reverence for God and she turns her back. These aging boomers have turned their back on God. Don’t let this happen to your church and if it has then either leadership needs to push them out or convert them, but if those won’t happen you need to leave.
