How does one debate ideology?

Nope, 'cause it's not there. Lie to yourself if you want to - we've been here before and your tactics are well known.

First you paste scripture, then you answer another question, then the insult, then you ignore and now you lie.

You've been dodging or lying for so long so let me ask again:

Why does god allow children to be infected with cancerous cells?
Why did he create cancer (and leprosy, AIDS, Ebola, smallpox etc) at all?

If she tried to answer those questions she would have to think. That's not going to happen.

No it's not, you resort to lying after a few pages of posts.

You lie as a substitute for an honest post.

There are only two answers.

1. God is a sadist.
2. He doesn't exist.

Rich2018, How do I determine that cancer cells, viruses and bacteria are evidence that god does not exist? If I were one of those nut cases that just so happens to wonder how so many miracles are coexisting at the same time to sustain life, then why would god prioritize what life within his creation is prioritized over another?

Dunno, but I would never give children cancer. I'm a much nicer guy than this god.

So, man plays no part in cancer...if you think that, you are not facing the cold, hard facts...

If there is a god, which I personally have no evidence, and he\she made us in his/her image, which is what the common thought process is, then s/he is similar to us in that s/he is not perfect.

I honestly do not care what people think and I do not have any ill will toward atheists. It is kinda funny in a way, all of the confessed atheists I know have and internal moral code that reads just like most religious teachings. THe other thing that amazes me is that spend an enormous amount of time talking about god, refuting god, and or debating about anything religious and you have to wonder why people would spend so much time dedicated to a subject they do not believe exists?

I have your same compassion for the the young, gotta love them to death and yet you also have to put yourself into their perspective of life. If you tell me that child had 10 years of an amazing family with love dispersed on her from conception until death, would s/he perspective of s/he life be one of outrage and sorrow? If there is another child right down the street that never was exposed to love and lived their entire life without experiencing this environment, would that be a acceptable life outcome. If the quality of life is measured by the amount of love received, is in not our responsibility to distribute it as much as humanly possible?

They are all amazing questions and I personally pondered all of these issues alone and with others.

I am not a religious man, but I do want to give thanks every day for the miracle of life and all it entails. I know I can thank my father and mother and forget about it, but that is not me, I keep going back thru all the generations from now until I get to the beginning of life. I inevitably get to the big bang. Once I got to that point, I said holy ****, no one can explain what created the big bang, there is no one left to give thanks too. God Damn!!!! WHy did I refer to God! If I want to give thanks every day, it really gets exhausting going thru the entire history over and over and over so I just summarize it with Thank you God!

Which god? There are a lot to choose from.

Which god? There are a lot to choose from.

I have my prefered GOD, and I hold no ill will toward others who give thanks to a more supreme entity responsible for this wonderful universe we live in.
As and atheist, I would like to know where the thanks stops?

Elvira does nothing but lie, dodge and insult.

It's true

Whenever she has no answer you get emotes, denial, insults and then a false claim it was answered all along if only you trawled the thread to find it.

Learn how to reply with quotes.

God's creation of cancerous cell, Ebola, AIDS, River Blindness, Smallpox, Plague, Leprosy etc etc at the time of the creation do seem to run contrary to Christian clams that he loves us.

I think you need to familiarize yourself with the Bible.

God made which species in his own likeness?

You prefer one god over another, why is that?

Elvira,

You seem to have forgotten the question asked of you and your religion.

So let me ask again:

Why does god allow children to be infected with cancerous cells?
Why did he create cancer (and leprosy, AIDS, Ebola, smallpox etc) at all?

The thanks do not start.

Atheists are all different. The only thing we are certain to have in common is a lack of belief in a god.

I give thanks for how incredibly lucky I've been every day. I do that by "paying it forward," helping to make our society better where ever I can.

Surely some contradiction there?

Who, what and/or why do you give thanks??? That is the question that has pushed men since the beginning of time. You paying forward is amazing, it is the same thing I and we wish all people would do, but giving thanks to those before you is what most men also do and as stated earlier, you go back thru the millions of real things all the way up to the BIG BANG. Whatever was the predecessor of the big bang is absolutely real. No One knows what it is and it could be long gone and dead, but we collectively continue to thank it for creating this universe.

Yes, if you were taught hellfire, immortality of the soul, and the trinity, you did indeed hear lies...you haven't learned much since then, either...

Nice straw man argument. I reject all of that. And at one time I believed similarly to you; but have long since ascended that position. Funny that you would accuse me of being the one who hasn't learned much since.

Who to give thanks to is the big question? I thought it was why are we here?

Correction, "Is a big question"

Why are we here? Another great question. What can I say, "GOOGLE IT"
