If there is a god, which I personally have no evidence, and he\she made us in his/her image, which is what the common thought process is, then s/he is similar to us in that s/he is not perfect.
I honestly do not care what people think and I do not have any ill will toward atheists. It is kinda funny in a way, all of the confessed atheists I know have and internal moral code that reads just like most religious teachings. THe other thing that amazes me is that spend an enormous amount of time talking about god, refuting god, and or debating about anything religious and you have to wonder why people would spend so much time dedicated to a subject they do not believe exists?
I have your same compassion for the the young, gotta love them to death and yet you also have to put yourself into their perspective of life. If you tell me that child had 10 years of an amazing family with love dispersed on her from conception until death, would s/he perspective of s/he life be one of outrage and sorrow? If there is another child right down the street that never was exposed to love and lived their entire life without experiencing this environment, would that be a acceptable life outcome. If the quality of life is measured by the amount of love received, is in not our responsibility to distribute it as much as humanly possible?
They are all amazing questions and I personally pondered all of these issues alone and with others.
I am not a religious man, but I do want to give thanks every day for the miracle of life and all it entails. I know I can thank my father and mother and forget about it, but that is not me, I keep going back thru all the generations from now until I get to the beginning of life. I inevitably get to the big bang. Once I got to that point, I said holy ****, no one can explain what created the big bang, there is no one left to give thanks too. God Damn!!!! WHy did I refer to God! If I want to give thanks every day, it really gets exhausting going thru the entire history over and over and over so I just summarize it with Thank you God!
