Christ Is Risen! Christos anesti! Happy Orthodox Easter to everyone! Let us rejoice! ;)

Happy zombie Jesus day!

You can call it anything you want. I call it “just another Sunday.”

Cool down, Cal.
All he did was greet fellow-Christians.

Really, I don't know why the very mention of anything Christian trigger you quite so easily.
You're reacting to it like you're getting jabbed or getting dragged to the fire, or something.

Your reaction - that's, the mystery to me. It's intriguing. That's worth a thread on its own, you know.
Maybe, you can discuss about it and we'll end up discovering why you're so angry.

What holy water is to Dracula, the mention of Christianity is to you. It gets you hissing automatically. :lamo

I know you want to see the anger you feel in his words but they are not there.

His reaction to all Christian thread isn't a figment of my imagination.

His brother Jesus rose last week.

He seems to be drowning in sarcasms.
His reaction to it isn't by any means suggesting he carries just a chip on his shoulders.
Lol. He must be carrying a mountain!

You can't see it because......you're in denial?

When people post ridiculous drivel it is fun to expose it and to stretch the minds of those who have no idea of the world.

You may call it "making fun."
I see the anger. Angry sarcasm. I can even see some glimpses of pain.
He's not having fun!

And, there is more to it than just simple disbelief, either.
It's like he's trying too hard. About something.

It does make us angry when we have explained a point until blue for our position to be miss-represented yet again.

To ask the same question a thousand times and never get anything other than either evasion or lying.

Such is debating with the religious.

Christ promised to come back within the lifetime of his contemporaries. What's keeping him? He's a bit late.

You don't understand why the mention of something religious in a Skeptics sub-forum garners a reaction? Really? I'd pretty much guarantee you're not going to get that reaction from skeptics if it was made in the Theology sub-forum.

Yep, right there in black and white. That was the biblical claim; and it didn't happen. Oooops.

To play the devils advocate, it all depends on how you define the first and second coming. The typical one is the first coming is when he got resurrected. What if the first coming started when he was baptized by John the Baptist until his crucifixion? That means, the resurrection WAS his second coming, and he's not coming back no more.

Yes, it pains me that there are so many stupid people on this earth.

That so many people actually believe this whole ridiculous Zombie Jesus thing has to be the most disheartening thing going today. Here we are in the twenty first century, and nearly a billion people believe that some dude literally rose from the dead to cleanse us of our sins.

What. The. ****?

Making it even sillier, it's like these people are too stupid to see it's springtime. Like, hey, dodo's. Did you ever think that maybe this resurrection thing is just a symbolic representation of Spring? There's a reason gathering eggs is such a large part of the celebration. Not to mention the whole ****ing like rabbits thing.

The stupidity that surrounds me is astounding. But, I would not care if the morons simply kept their idiotic beliefs to themselves which, of course, they don't. No. Instead they try to wedge themselves into public life, taking a sledgehammer to any and all ideas which conflict with their backwards way of looking at the world. So, instead of having flying cars, we have millions of people clamoring for more ****ing coal!

First, I can't imagine the "fun," whether you're a secularist, agnostic, or atheist, in mocking others. Where is the entertainment in going out of your way to be unkind?

Second, I find hilariously presumptuous the notion that people of faith "have no idea of the world" and need their minds "stretched."

Third, for some what's going on is far more than disbelief. Most of us are willing to "live and let live," but some are unable to do this. They can't control their intolerance, their need to gratuitously pick and be deliberately ugly. Remember the Canadian guy whose deal was that those who are religious are mentally ill? After I began to post back and forth with him, I realized that he had been terribly hurt sometime in childhood. He's damaged and brokenhearted. Maybe that is where the anger comes from?

Lol. Why on earth - of all people - do you need to explain theology to a believer?
Even to the point of it making you angry! Don't you see how strange your reactions are?

We get your position. You don't believe. You think God is a myth! End of the story.
So, go on....move along.

What is it to you if people believe in God? All the poster did was greet fellow-Christians!
And you go, like....... unhinged.

The $64 question: WHY?

In church and your own homes, it matters not. Enjoy! Making the same assertions in an online discussion forum - a place designed to exchange and refute ideas - and whose partial target demographic includes skeptics... the believer obtains precisely the reaction they bargained for in the first place.

Oh, yes we do get some skeptics reaction even in Theology.

I'm not questioning the reaction to discussions.....but c'mon, even a simple greetings to fellow-believers could evoke such strong emotional reaction.....that's....unhealthy (for lack of a better word).
Boy, I wonder if calamity ended up sobbing! :lamo
With that kind of reaction - it's only sensible to note that something is terribly amiss with him (and Tim - who admittedly ends up getting angry for having to explain)!

I ask - why the incredible need to explain?

Lol, what's there to react about with a greetings that's obviously directed to believers?

Well, I can question the kind of reaction we get. That's the huge part of discussion here.....after we've gone past the greetings.
I can't help but notice the overboard reaction coming from some. It's consistent, too.
By the mention of even something simple as a greetings to fellow-believers, some posters easily go.....unhinged.
Why?
That's what's worth discussing.
