Rationing and robbery: Coronavirus outbreak sparks toilet roll panic - Reuters

SYDNEY/TOKYO (Reuters) - In Australia, major grocers have restricted supplies to one pack per person. In Japan, rolls are chained to the wall in public toilets. In Hong Kong, armed robbers carried out a heist as supplies were delivered to a supermarket.

Toilet paper has emerged as the unlikely No.1 stockpiling target for people across Asia who are worried that the spread of the coronavirus epidemic will lead to supply shortages.

Looking at our modern, sophisticated, global society, it is somewhat striking to find that one of its most basic elements is TP. Perhaps even more vital than sophisticated products like penicillin.

Do Australians buy penicillin over the counter? Hard to stock up on something you have limited access to to begin with.

The cost of Purell is way up. I have stations set up all through the property and it amazes me how little use these get.

That being said, my resort is a high end property in Scottsdale. I suspect most guest know how to take care of themselves properly.

My brain just shut right down after I read this part; "rolls are chained to the wall in public toilets" wuh-huh?

An Australian tried to resell toilet paper for $100 per roll. For some reason, the hypocrites of the free market began to shame him.
Toilet paper at such prices, and even more expensive, in capitalism system is allowed to sell only in one place - on the stock markets. But this is only for chosen thieves. And they also praised for it as "captains of business".
And what is the stock market?
This is when two money changers in a restaurant sell each other a greasy napkin for a million $ each.
