Why Australia Hid Its Koala Mass Murder

Hundreds of the beloved marsupials were slaughtered in 2013 and 2014 in what the government is describing as a mercy killing. Taxpayers picking up the check, take note.

Just two months after record-breaking fires in south Australia left the marsupials burned and helpless, the Australian Broadcasting Corporation is reporting that hundreds of koalas in Victoria were targeted by wildlife officials in a “secret” campaign of mercy killing.

You can't catch a break with global warming. The koala, who live on the native Eucalyptus trees, are also intensive water consumers. In Australia, drought has killed my koalas & their main food source is also the main fuel for the raging brush fires.
