This is an interesting poll for those who enjoy those sort of things. It is an election year in new zealand and this poll has caught a lot of attention with people saying that it does reflect their opinion on who they would vote for.
It did with mine and showed i am quite likely to vote for the greens and the op party.

But if your not interested in nz politics then you can click on the flag up in the right hand corner and answer the american poll.

2017 Election Quiz
P.S. If i voted in america apparently i would vote for greens, jill stein.

Where's the Forum Poll?

Not clickbait.

Re: I side with...

It's been a while since I took that quiz, but I remember that I sided with Gary Johnson on 95% of the issues. Next up was Jill Stein or that... whatever his name was, the Mormon guy. I'm pretty sure it was one of those two.

Trump and Hillary were both in the 50% area.

Re: I side with...

I'm moderately left-wing and favor Jill Stein.

I have always considered us politics to nothing more than a two horse race. Have not paid that much attention to the greens. I might have a look at this stein and see what the greens say in ameirica.

Who cares about New Zealand?

I'm from New Zealand and I agree with this sentiment. We are not significant in world affairs. We don't invade anybody. We don't oppress anybody. We don't have terrorist attacks. We're just a remote country full of sheep, bush, and hobbits.

And that's why I side with NZ First, because I'd like my country to stay remote and peaceful, and that means keeping everybody else out.

Agreed... I don't want more people coming in. We are out of the way and that is perfect.

A little strange perhaps the people may be and a great place to visit and sometimes shoot movies and the Lamb is tasty but otherwise "New Zealand" does not cross the brain all that often.

Re: I side with...

Says the American from California.

This just sounds odd... why not just American or Californian? And I was born in Oregon. And I am a New Zealand citizen...

I like to write with style.

Sorry, I did not know about the citizenship, that of course changes things.

California is an important place. It's the home of Google and Hollywood, two great forces that shape everybody's lives. And if you guys break away from the USA, other states will get the same idea, which could lead to the dissolution of the world's only superpower nation.

Your post started ok but then it went peculiar... the USA falling apart due to disunity and huh?

No they don't. Shape everyone's lives, I mean. Actually, they're both affectations that a very small percentage of everybody allows to occupy 'way too much of their attention. Most of everybody has more important things to do.

In terms of economic and military power, the USA is currently Tier 0. It has no equal. Russia and China combined could not challenge the supremacy of the USA. The Western World depends on America's power to keep Russia and China at bay.

The USA has only one weakness: it depends on certain states to maintain its power level. California alone is the 6th largest economy in the world: if it successfully threw off the federal government, America would lose a huge chunk of its power and may not retain enough to stay Tier 0. Any secession would likely result in civil war, which would weaken America still further and encourage more states to declare independence. Russia and China would become the two strongest countries in the world, since Britain and the EU are committing suicide as we speak.

The possible secession of California would not only affect global politics, it would likely tip Western Civilization into decline. Australia and New Zealand would preserve a small portion of it for the next few hundred years, the way the Byzantines preserved part of the Roman Empire.

Yeah... I get all that. What I meant was... why did geo-politics creep onto the discussion?

Hawkeye10 mentioned he was from California. It was interesting to contrast an important place with little ol' New Zealand.

That, and I specialize in sidetracking threads.

New Zealand is about as remote as it gets. Average Americans would find Mongolia first...

I am from Cali... that is what he was saying. He is from Washington...
