Can you imagine things being so bad in South Africa for white people that Red China becomes a vast improvement?

Anecdotal at best, but there is something to discuss about South Africa not only ignoring the unintended consequences of all their actions but doubling down (if not tripling down) on the effort in some act of deluding themselves that counter prejudices cancel out aged prejudices.

Economic and social division leading to widespread crime and desperation, and then asinine policy in an attempt to counter will eventually cause that nation to cease to exist.

Basic services are dysfunctional, the government is really nothing more than a bunch of racists cowards (in both directions) resorting to xenophobic policy, and the socioeconomic structure of the nation is a study in what not to do.

Going from that fiasco to China may not be all that bad, as terrible as that sounds.

It’s clearly not wise on the part of South Africa to drive a white flight from the country, but the white settlers were once an illegitimate minority government.

Serpentza is working as an English teacher in Shenzhen in the Guangdong province of China. His odd accent must be confusing for Chinese students, who are familiar with American English.
