How do you feel about the idea of letting Un off the hook?

It's a terrible idea. The North Korean state is an autocracy which rules by terror towards its population and the country's neighboring states. And it will forever continue to do so because that is the structural and organic nature of the regime. It can no more be changed in its fundamental nature than the regimes of Nazi Germany, the Khmer Rouge, or the Islamic State could because of the twisted ideologies that were embedded within them. It should be subject to permanent diplomatic, economic and militarily-enforced isolation. There should be no thawing of relations until the regime liberalizes. Which will almost certainly be never.

So what?

Erectile dysfunction or what?

How do you feel about the idea of letting Un off the hook?

Does he think he will do it if we don't give him something?

Give him Venezuela, but no.

Charge him with terrroristic threatening, but no.

Treat him as a rapist, no.

Preach to him, no.

Nothing else has worked.
You know that there really are no great options. Trump’s play is to somehow give Kim assurances he won’t be deposed or murdered by China the day after Trump leaves office, and at the same time convince him that economic progress won’t cause him to be challenged either.

China needs NK to be a nuclear foil for them, and they do not want a south Korean democracy on their border. That was the reason China entered the Korean war in the first place, and that is the reason that as soon as US forces leave S. Korea, China will push NK south to take them over.

There aren’t lots of good ways to block Chinese expansion.

I might be dreaming or hallucinating but I seem to recall something that worked from 1953 until 2017.
It didn't always work perfectly, but it seemed to keep the Kim crime family from doing some of what they're doing right now, at least most of the time.

The opinion piece is from June of LAST YEAR. What does it have to do with today?

What?

I heard on the radio that trump was talking about letting them keep their nukes, so I looked up an article; June of last year? Sorry.

As the national character of the hermit state, North Korea is very hostile to outsiders, which adds to the tensions on the Korean peninsula. The new White House press secretary, Stephanie Grisham, was attacked by North Koreans outside a meeting room where the two leaders met and she got bruised. This is what happens to you when you deal with North Koreans. Considering that, Trump is doing a great job in the hostile environment.

I am actually suprised the Adorables did not blame the incident on Hilldog or some other nonsense.

N Korea is an Autocracy, and no amount of photo ops is going to change that fact.
