Because the longest range plane that Air Koryo has is an Ilyushin 62M. There aren't many of those flying, and they probably couldn't risk flying it if it had a mechanical on the way and they needed parts.

I flew in a IL62M once from JFK-Prague. It was interesting, glad to have flown it, wouldn't want to do it again...
 
I highly doubt Air Koryo is licensed to fly many places outside of NK. Also, I wouldn’t be surprised if China is paying NK’s way. We do a similar thing all the time.

Also, Air Koryo sucks.

YEP and to answer his last question there is almost no chance that Kim will come to the USA but if he does China will give him a lift again...they trust the Chinese and Kim would be willing to deal with the shame.....and would be determined that in the near future NK will have their own fleet that could do the job.

His dad refused to fly, would only take the train, the son has to deal with that legacy.

He can either take his little train to South Korea and ask to hire one of the SK planes or he can accept a ride in one of the US military cargo planes to the US of A.
Either way, it'll make it painfully obvious to this little sod how much he depends on the goodwill of the rest of the world. ;)

The European Union renewed its ban on North Korea's only airline flying within the bloc for the seventh straight year. The 22 May 2017 decision came as all aircraft from Air Koryo, excluding two Russian-made planes, did not meet the EU's strict safety standards. The European Commission said the designations help keep EU nationals safe.

He is not a sod. He is a dynamic man that took the throne at a young age. Sometimes we forgot he didn't ask to be the leader of a country. Let me grow and be a kid for once.

Trump has been negotiating and dealing for 50 years ... and this is the first time poor Kim is sitting at a negotiation table.
I'm pretty sure Kim has been following the G7 summit :lol:, because this is what will happen if Trump thinks Kim is playing around:
