An editorial in China’s state-run Global Times has announced that Beijing “will and should” respond to US President Donald Trump’s signing of the Taiwan Travel Act on Friday with “military pressure.”

"China will and should take timely countermeasures against the US and all ‘Taiwan independence' secessionist forces through diplomatic and military means if US legislation that encourages high-level contact between the US and the island of Taiwan is implemented," the Global Times reported Sunday.

Trump's decision to sign this new Taiwan law could be the start of a real military mess in the South China Sea.

China's just pissed because we don't have a pansy ass for a President who can be easily scared into line.

Maybe China should knock off the damn chest-thumping in the South China Sea.

I think that with their 'president for life' & his ultra-nationalistic rhetoric about defending every inch of China (including Taiwan), they mean business. It is, after all, ther back yard. Taiwan (formerly Formosa) was part of China up ubtil Chang Kai Shek left in 1949 after the Chicomms under Mao took over the mainland.

I don't think there's much China can achieve militarily against the US. They'll try for sure but again, they'll just get themselves surrounded by coalition navies. They're tightening their own noose. France, UK, Australia are already sending warship to patrol the area and will soon be join by other countries.
