Thailand's prime minister has taken a novel approach to avoiding questions at a news conference, by leaving a cardboard cutout to do the job.

Prayuth Chan-ocha briefly spoke to an audience outside Government House in Bangkok, before the life-sized replica was brought out.

"If you want to ask any questions on politics or conflict, ask this guy," Mr Prayuth said, then walked away waving.

It may seem unusual for the prime minister of his country to ever do such a thing but, even though it may seem comical at first, there is a serious reason as to why he did it. Really just about the political turmoil going on there at the moment. Just the thought of introduction a cardboard cutout of himself was a funny idea, even though he may have done it out of sheer cowardice

He took a page out of Trumps book.....

New York Attorney General Eric Schneiderman has filed a lawsuit against Donald Trump and his eponymous "Trump University" for defrauding students looking to learn about the billionaire's brand of business acumen.

The suit says that 5,000 students, many paying thousands of dollars, thought they would get to at least meet the Donald. Instead, they only got their picture taken with a cardboard cutout.

Between 2005 and 2011, Trump University swindled consumers into paying for a spate of expensive courses that did not deliver on promises to teach real estate investing techniques, the suit alleges.

"More than 5,000 people across the country who paid Donald Trump $40 million to teach them his hard sell tactics got a hard lesson in bait-and-switch," Schneiderman said in a statement. "Mr. Trump used his celebrity status and personally appeared in commercials making false promises to convince people to spend tens of thousands of dollars they couldn't afford for lessons they never got."

He might come to regret the joke when the people decide they prefer the cut-out and it beats him in the next election. :D

Thailand is a military dictatorship so it doesn't really matter what the PM says or does anyway. Might as well take the day off and enjoy the beach and beautiful weather.

It amounts to the same thing with our own politicians, when the majority of them provide us with non answers, or answers so vague, they could be tabloid horoscopes.

To add, at least the cardboard cutout does t expect to get paid over 150k per year for its time to not answer any questions reasonably.
