Going For Kim

Yeah not gonna happen.

Sun is for all intents and purposes a tabloid and this is a tabloid story.

What about this source?

Navy Seals training South Korean ‘assassination’ squad to deal with Kim Jong-un

South Korean commandos will work with the US Navy Seals who killed Osama bin Laden to create a special unit to assassinate Kim Jong-un in the event of war.

The announcement coincides with a decision by the US to waive restrictions on the size and range of South Korean ballistic missiles, allowing it to develop its own independent capacity to drop bunker-busting bombs on the underground headquarters of the North Korean leadership in Pyongyang.

None of the countries involved are likely to discard centuries of mutual disdain and hostility because you say so.

The fall of the USA as a super power with the rise of China along the failing global world order means that you need to be on the lookout for new alliances. We maybe could have had Russia on our side but we decided to be assholes towards them over and over again...this latest BS over the Elites War against Trump was the last straw.

China got them.

Maybe you could point out where I was referring to OBL...

I didn't; I was merely demonstrating that bin Laden was not considered a high ranking member of a government aka a leader of a nation, since you had quoted my earlier post

and no; I was not complaining about it then, since you asked earlier

not complaining about it in this thread either; just stating that it is against current US policy, that's it

We are still trying to figure out how much power this guy has.....plus there seems to be an assumption that these people are not very good at security/military matters, because we sure dont know this for fact.

Not to mention I dont figure Team China/Russia/Iran would either sign off on the plan nor accept this being done without their approval.

Sounds like Hubris.

It could be. We'll just have to wait and see.

So CIA wants a war in Korea like in Syria? now I get it!!!!!!

Why? Did Syria threatened countries with missiles? Did they launch any?

He doesn't have to be leader of a nation. He just have to be a leader!
Ever heard of cutting off the head of the snake?

Btw, what exactly is that policy?

that would be in direct violation of current US Government policy ...........

Not that that would matter. But I doubt the US would make the attempt.

What may be happening is the US is training an elite SK force. Which would not be unusual.

Taking out Kim Jong Fattie would just make room for Kim Jong Next. Nothing gained.

Are you saying he should look for a black SUV out in front?

i recall what happened after JFK thought it was a good idea to take out castro

Speaking of Castro.....was the Cuba crisis - when kids were trained to go under school desks - as bad as this?
I can't remember, but I don't think there was any missile that was actually launched?

Your church is still interested in killing people ? Like in the times of Nazis?

If you want to talk about that, create your own thread. Let's stick with the issue here.

There's no way that we're going to send a team in to take out Kim unless we're also going in with conventional forces. It would be war either way.

Yeah. Something about this is hard to believe. We didn't assissnate Saddam.

Lets say Kim is assassinated, what then?

Does anyone think NK leadership is going to get rid of the missiles it has or the nuclear technology/weapons it has right now?

NK generals have seen what happens to the leadership of countries that are invaded by the US, they are generally killed. I doubt NK generals trust China to protect them in any serious matter (nor do I believe they like China, just that they dislike them less then the US.

Killing Kim would probably accomplish nothing, but create a period of destabilization in NK, in which a radical group could gain access to nukes and use them as a means to gain power they otherwise will not. It would be a dangerous game, with little to gain, and lots to lose. Right now, NK nukes to be launched would have to go through various levels of command, even if Kim was crazy (which I doubt) his generals are not. They want to keep their little fiefdoms of power they will stop Kim from using nukes except when NK is under attack.

Take out Kim and a power struggle arrives, all bets are off.

much worse
it was a well armed russia with nuclear and throw weight parity with the USA
and it was 17 years after detonation of nuclear arms in war
at this time the russians were kicking our ass in the space race
we had weekly nuclear drills (we went into the hallways away from glass, and kneeled down facing the walls with our eyes shut) ... which might have been unique to the schools for military dependents that i attended

among my cohort, the question was not if we have a nuclear war but when it would occur

Training for one specific mission, if that is the goal, is different than training for unknown missions.

True, and Kim is well protected. Next is intel on where he is.
As they say in real estate, location, location, location. Each differing location changes the plan
Next would be point 1, who, and how many, types of units, levels of units training/skills are protecting him. All sorts of questions that a large team heading on what would be mostly a suicide mission would need to know.
Air defenses in the area. It would not be 2 choppers heading in.
How good is SK intel on NK?
Next - what are the repercussions of cutting of the head?
Lastly- what are the repercussions of failure?

It was OK under the last administration. They were using drones as assassination weapons. Were you complaining about that when it happened??

This thread is about NK in the year 2017. Present Moment Awareness could be your friend ...

Ah, more paranoid conspiracy theories.

I have nothing to do with the CIA, but no sane person sheds a tear at the thought of Un passing.

Only in a fantasy world is "not standing for naked aggression" considered "being an asshole".

And last time I checked, despite the shrieks, the US has not fallen as a superpower.

You mean the American people's war against Trump's cult?
