North Korea appears to have restarted plutonium reactor

WASHINGTON (Reuters) - New commercial satellite imagery indicates North Korea has resumed operation of a reactor at its main nuclear site used to produce plutonium for its nuclear weapons program, a U.S. think tank said on Friday.
In a New Year speech, North Korean leader Kim Jong Un said his country was close to test launching an Intercontinental Ballistic Missile (ICBM) and state media has said a launch could come at any time.

This is the international equivalent of a nutter with a machine gun in the theater.

So, what will the new administration do about it do you suppose?

Is Trump the same as the last three administrations?

After a week in office, who knows. But I doubt anyone is looking to start a war with a crazy nuclear power.

Technically North and South Korea are at war right now!

The Korean War is in a state of armistice,no peace treaty has been signed yet.

I won't be surprised if Trump has the U. S. Military destroy North Korea's nuclear and missile facilities.

Unless trump has a death wish for tens of thousands of South Koreans yeah he is the same. Would you volunteer you and your family to go to war with North Korea and then possibly china or Russia in the process?

Some South Koreans and a lot of North Koreans may have to die if Trump decides to destroy North Korea's nuke and missile facilities.

Which is why North Korea is a complex problem, not easily fixed with simplistic ideas.

May you and your family be sent to fight that war then.

Me and my family are in Europe.

I'm going to let you and your family handle this kerfuffle.

Keep notes and tell us all about it when it's over.

Ah so a warmongerer in Europe, got it. If you want a war, go fight it yourself for once.

I'm going to let those who are threatened by this war fight it themselves.

That's what warmongers and cowards usually do. Have others to fight wars they cheer on.

Very true. It'd be an easier problem to solve if the Midget Commie didn't have missiles pointed at Seoul.

That and the China question(s): "Will China allow a US-led military operation to take place in which the isolated communist gov't be brought down?" and "Will China stand by and let reunification happen and allow a Democratic Korean Peninsula?"

1 and soon to be pointed at North America and Europe, if that Midget Commie gets his way.
2. That's the real question. I don't know the answer. I don't think Trump knows the answer, either.

I think China would be uneasy about a pro-Western nation on their borders. If Seoul became the seat of a United Korea, that would not bode well for China. Ergo, China would (probably) step into a Western conflict against North Korea.
