I've been using Hulu for streaming live TV for almost a yr now and it pretty much sucks. Their user interface and channel guide are terrible. I use it as an aggregator for many/most of the cable networks and for the local networks for local news, etc. And for ABC, NBC, and CBS, altho it only added ABC about a month ago.

I'm thinking of trying Sling...any opinions anyone?

Anyone like something else?

I've tried Sling, and You Tube TV is the best thing going.

I tried Sling when I moved and the app is pretty awful. Also had a free trial for Youtube TV which had a much better interface and was actually cheaper if you get the ultimate collection for Sling. I don't currently have anything though because I find them to be a waste of money.

I have You Tube TV and like it better than I did Hulu. The channel guide is ok, but I was used to Dish, so it took awhile to get used to since it doesn't have channel numbers.

I think they have a free trial going on right now.

Between YT, Hulu, and Sling, I'd say YT has the best interface of the three, if that's your biggest concern. Sling has a cluster **** of a UI, but it gives you the basics cheap.

OTOH, if you're primarily concerned about local channels, consider getting an outdoor antenna.

It all depends on what content you need in a package.

I don't use sling. I get Netflix. I can use it on more than one tv or device regardless of location. Sling and Hulu might be the same way too.

Depending on where you are at a TV antenna might be a good idea. If you are around a bunch of two story or higher buildings clumped up together or even the bottom of a hilly area then a inside TV antenna probably won't work that good. When I lived in some apartment buildings my reception was lousy and got only a few channel. But when I moved to a more flat area with a bunch of single story houses I got better reception and more channels.

If you have high speed internet and a Roku or similar device or even a modern cellphone you can get free news apps for some of your local news stations. There is also an app called NewsOn that will air the latest local broadcast channel news.

With a Roku or other similar device or a android phone you can get these free apps called Pluto and XUMO. Those two apps are somewhat like cable and satellite tv for poor people(assuming poor people could afford high speed internet). Both of them got news/political talk channels. Both of them got various kid show channels. Pluto has nickelodeon kid show channels while Xumo has more generic(probably not actually generic I just never heard of those channels) kid show channels. There are more cooking show channels on Xumo. Xumo also has an America's Test Kitchen cooking channel. Both have a This Old House channel if you like This Old House. Both have lots of sports channels. Around Christmas time Pluto will have Christmas movie channel, christmas fireplace channel that plays christmas music and a couple of Christmas music video channels.

You can get apps for ABC,NBC,(not cbs because its a pay service) and various other channels to stream shows from them if you or someone you know has a satellite or cable tv account. Even the broadcast channels require a cable or satellite tv account to stream TV shows from their apps.PBS as far as I know doesn't require a cable or satellite tv account.

My wife buys online, so she was in Amazon Prime before they had a streaming service. Now I'd do it just for the streaming. Music too. Netflix basic is still under $10/month. Both have a fair amount of original product.

I watched the Super Bowl on Foxsports. Having commercials about drove me nuts. It has been quite a while.

Really helpful everyone. Seems YouTube is better than Sling.

I can live with the Hulu UI but I also have issues with how poorly they stream. If I go back to the Home screen and go to Netflix or Am Prime, I'm streaming just fine.

Oh, I am using an Amazon Fire stick for the TV.

I am going to check more on JamesRages suggestions.

What were you streaming the SB live on FoxSports on?

Thanks!

I am up on a ridge, no other houses close. And I use an Amazon Fire Stick for the TV.

I do see Pluto come up on my Home screen as a possibility, I can also look for Xumo.
