No more Reggaeton in Dallas !?!?!?!

The cucks 98.3 KBOC in Dallas switched formats from Reggaeton to some romantic, "easy listening" format. Certainly someone else will fill that void. Not having Reggaeton in Dallas is like not having Country in Nashville. Oh well, I'm moving to Austin later this year anyway.

As an added bonus, they are featuring convicted child molester Gloria Trevi on their website. I guess it's only OK to objectify girls/women if one is a lesbian.

In 2000, Trevi, Andrade and backup singer Maria Raquenel Portillo were arrested in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil on charges of corrupting minors.[12][13] A year later, while in prison, Trevi announced that she was pregnant. The father was Andrade, according to DNA tests by Brazilian authorities (Trevi and her defense claimed that the results of the DNA test had been doctored).[14] Trevi was cleared of the charges in 2004, due to lack of evidence, after spending four years and eight months in prison

Now I didn't even know who this individual was until you posted this thread. Which led me to investigate to find out.

Whether she actually committed the crime(s) alleged or not remains to be seen. But the information available indicates that she was never "convicted." Just pointing that out for clarity.

She was convicted in Brazil and did three years in a Brazilian prison then deported back to Mexico. There was lack of evidence in Mexico because the girls had become of age after she spent three years in a Brazilian prison and the Brazilian girls didn't want to bother testifying to the Mexican authorities.

Well, maybe I am missing something, but the reports indicate she was arrested in Brazil due to charges in Mexico and she fought extradition. Mexican Pop Star Gloria Trevi, Manager Arrested in Sex Scandal - Los Angeles Times

I can't seem to find any reports of actual conviction in Brazil. :shrug:

In any case, I was merely pointing out there was no value in disparaging her in your OP unless you know your assertions are factual.

It bugs me because this is the problem with the Court of Public Opinion, assuming truth when there is none. For example, thanks to lurid headlines some people still believe members of the Duke Lacrosse team were guilty of rape.

We are discussing whether Trevi is suitable as a public figure. If you have enough money, things have to be REALLY serious not to beat justice in Mexico and Brazil. Consider this:

In 1999, several girls who had been in Andrade's sex-slave ring, managed to escape and immediately went public with their stories. In television interviews, they told of being beaten, abused and starved, just as Hernandez had claimed in her book. Karina Yapor explained how in 1996, at age 12, she had left her home in Chihuahua, Mexico, and gone to live with Andrade and Trevi in Mexico City. A year later, at age 13, she had given birth to a baby boy and claimed Andrade was the father. She later wrote a book about her experience with Andrade and Trevi, citing horrible physical and psychological abuse.

Two teenage sisters, Karola and Katia de la Cuesta, made similar allegations of sexual abuse against Andrade and Trevi, who had originally hired them as backup singers. Another teen, Delia Gonzalez, claimed she had been recruited as a singer by Trevi. That may be what you are discussing.

What I am discussing is making false/erroneous assertions to color the narrative.

Like I said, I've never even heard of this woman before your thread. So I simply did some research to find out who she was so I could make an informed determination about your stated concerns.

I know, I know, MOST people don't do this...which is a major problem I have when "most people" make assertions of fact when in actuality they are merely expressing opinions.

I will give you credit for debunking a common perception: She is thought to have spent three years in a Brazilian prison because she was thought to be convicted. She likely would have been convicted had she not been allowed to return to Mexico.
 
They don't have a dedicated Reggaeton station here, no surprise, but I have found more and more they are playing some on the regular hip hop/pop stations like:



I think mostly because artists like J Balvin, Daddy Yankee, and Ozuna are getting more mainstream. I also like Karol G but I feel like the females are not quite going as mainstream in the US as the guys. Hopefully that changes, like now.
