Probably more people knew him as "Odo" in "Star Trek: Deep Space Nine," but I became a fan of Rene Auberjonois as "Father Mulcahy" in M*A*S*H. Others might recognize him as Chef Louis in The Little Mermaid, but he was a Tony winner and nominee too. He just did it all, and so wonderfully well. From Benson. He always seemed like a nice man.

DS9 is my favourite Trek, one of my favourite TV shows of all time, me and an ex also really had a things of Boston Legal as well and Rene was awesome in that too...

My heart is broken when I read the news last night, seemed like a very nice guy and I loved his work.

I loved Star Trek Deep Space 9 from the moment I watched it. We lost the actor who played Nog, Aron Eisenberg, earlier this year, and now Rene too. I hope their families find peace in these hard times and can remember their loves ones for the bright and inspiring stars they were.

A good character actor, he also toured in a one man show as Groucho Marx.

I first learned of him in “Benson,” but I loved him as the Reverend in “The Patriot.”

I had forgotten about The Patriot. He was good in M*A*S*H and as an aside, William Christopher was a good replacement in the long running tv series.

I personally did not like DS9 in general or his character in particular, but nothing personal about him. I thought that character was a constant downer. 79 is a little better than current life expectancy. My best to his family and friends.

Odo was a great character brought to life, DS9 was just awesome in fact.

Farewell, Constable Odo :(

I loved the relationship between Odo and Quark. Was so hilarious.

R.I.P.

Rest in peace, Rene Auberjonois.

One of the main characters in the best Star Trek shows. He was wonderful as Odo the changeling. He died too soon sadly.

Never watched the later Star Trek series but he was in Boston Legal for a bunch of the episodes: that and his memorable performance in the Patriot are where I remember him.
