ZZ Top did it better than ACDC

Of the radio friendly hard rock heavyweights, ZZ Top did it about the best. But, I feel like ACDC gets all the street cred. What's up with that?

Hard to compare two bands which are so utterly different in style and genre.

Even though more than half of Led Zeppelin songs were direct rip offs... Uncredited as well.

I cannot stomach Led Zep and never could. I caught trainloads worth of crap from my friends about it and wouldn't budge.
Bunch of flitty poofters singing like their testicles got caught in a vice, ripping off black blues guys to boot.

Really? ZZ Top hard rock heavyweights? I don't call ZZ Top hard rock and not heavyweights. They may have made a few good songs, ACDC are Rock/hard rock gods. Comparing ZZ Top to ACDC is total nonsense. They are not comparable because one is a great Hard Rock band and the other one is ZZ Top.

Robert Plant had the best male rock and roll voice, ever...

As for this thread... I liked both groups, but.........this is my favorite song by either group, so I got to go with AC/DC...

Wait. What are you talking about? You're not aware of the fact that Angus and Malcolm were often criticised for their use of limited amounts of chords and variances?

From the great man, Angus Young, himself...

Simplicity can also be the key to success. It's not about you, it's about the fans. They have the final say. They are obviously fine with it and at the end of the day it's all subjective anyway.

The Ramones also made a career out of playing the same three chords. Only a ****-load faster.

Interestingly a band I’m in is opening for ZZ Top at a charity event in November in NYC. I’m so hoping I get a chance to jam with them.

Personally, I could go the rest of my life without hearing any more Zeppelin, Queen, Journey, or Foreigner.

Good grief, you're lumping in Zeppelin with Queen, Journey, and Foreigner???

Dem's fighting words.

From what I've read, most hard rock bands did not want to follow AC/DC live, they were just too powerful and had killer riffs. I think both were probably equally respected as musicians. I prefer VH over both.
