Has anyone noticed a trend in recent Hollywood history of putting popular newscasters in movies?

Here's an article about it.

I've especially noticed a lot of CNN anchors, for some reason. I've seen Anderson Cooper in many movies, and recently I saw Nancy Grace in something.

I personally don't like it because, like the article says, it blurs the line between journalism and entertainment. Now, I don't have much respect for these "news" networks in general, but it doesn't help defend them from "fake news" allegations when we see their people appearing in fictional story lines.

I get it... the makers of the movies think it ups the stakes and gives the movie that "real" feel. Honestly though, every time I see a popular newscaster giving a fake news report in a movie, I immediately think of how disappointing it is that the same corporations who own the news also own Hollywood, and it makes me doubt the legitimacy of anything we see on the big ticket television news networks.

Have you noticed this too? What do you think about it?

Talking potato heads gotta have a place to talk.

Meh... there are better things to be concerned about these days.

I think it shakes the integrity of a anchor person however it may not affect a reporter.
Is there a difference ?
Not to me.
