So whats everyones thoughts?

Yah know, I liked it, I liked it a lot, I mean the story was a little jumbled and perhaps could have used a little more refinement as far as the writing goes to iron out the first half the movie, which was a little messy, but I think overall, it was once again a fine, fine movie from Marvel, it was entertaining, the action was good, Samuel L. Jackson was quite funny and the one big thing I want to point out, is there's so many films I find that write strong female characters badly, that make them headstrong to the point of being unlikable and assholish.

Whereas, they forget that even strong characters can be witty and funny and complex... I think they for the most part got that right here.

What are your thoughts?

Not good. Not Terrible. Just okay... Put too much nostalgia inside the film for nostalgic sake. Feels like another generic fish-out-of-water/bad-cop-good-cop/amnesia/self-discovery movies.

I don't get to say this often, but DC did it better...

Its so-so. I wasnt planning on watching it until the next weekend but I got really pissed off when the manuscript I was working on crashed and I failed to recover a full day's work. Rather than smashing up more furniture in the house, I took my son to the movie theatre with me.

For an origin story its not bad, though not great either. The plot is all over the place. The best scene is actually the first end credits one.

Pretty average. It did big gross numbers, but ticket sales put it about 8th biggest MCU opening. That's probably about right, maybe a little high.

Brie Larson and the coherent scripts were the parts that bugged me. She never seemed like she was struggling to control emotions (no more detail to avoid spoilers). She never really seemed fully there to me, even when she was supposed to be letting loose. Just felt like a forced movie.

It hits the highlights, though, and does introduce the character, which were the two main goals, I think. They have big plans for her in the next phase of the movies. And Fury/cat are fun up until the silly thing.

Seems like a universal "meh, okay" in reviews, too.

My kids liked it however it was so so for me. I also think I have reached the breaking point with these superhero movies, need a break from it lol.

Sounds like a typical comic book movie.

It was OK. It was a good set up to End Game.

I guess since the movie Marvel Universe is free of the original comic series, its OK that they completely ignore the actual history and lore of the Captain Marvel that I read when I was a kid. That bugs...but doesnt really impact the movie once you allow for the license to do whatever they want as if there wasnt an original script and story line.

All the political bull**** that was built up prior...didnt enter into the movie IMO. So as long as you dont engage it it doesnt adversely impact the experience.
