A Daily Show that is 100% Trump free? Did Jon Stewart come back?

OK, I almost feel out of my chair when I was watching South Park on Comedy Central and saw an ad for a 100% Trump free Daily Show.
They really made a point of that.

I have not watched it at all since Trevor took over and it became a one trick dog & pony show of Trump bashing.
I used to watch it regularly when Jon Stewart was on it. He ripped on everyone!
You know this was written before this bomb thing, so I do not think it was a motivator.
I think $$$ was a motivator because you can only have a single political theme for so long when people get tired of watching the same old thing over and over again.

or....

What is your take on this?

I searched the internet and came up with nothing.

PS...I am still not going to watch it. They made their feelings about what they thought of me for years.
Get Jon Stewart back and get better writers and i might tune in again.

The exception proves the rule that Trump always makes everything about him....sucks the oxygen out of the room as they say......he does this better than anyone else I have ever seen.

This has absolutely nothing to do with my thread.

The thread is about The Daily Show STOPPING bashing Trump, like they have been doing for a few years.

I am asking if it was loss of money and viewers being tired of their same old same old, or something else.

And I gave you the opinon that this shows how big Trump is, he is a monster....so much so that the D consultants tell their people "What ever you do dont talk about the impeachment"....Because that is the only thing that matters ......impeaching Trump.

The silence speaks even more powerfully than talking about him would...Like how Miles Davis used to talk about the empty spaces in the sound.

I haven't watched it since he left. I miss Jon Stewart! And you're right, he bashed everyone. Loved his turtle impression of McConnell though. :lol:

I think people tire of the same thing every time they watch.

I thought my English communication skills were going to hell for a minute there.

Yeah....when Jon was there no one was safe!
It was hilarious and the high point of some of my days in the evening.
I remember once him coming across his desk and acting like he was grabbing the person he was talking about by the throat.
It was only air, but we all got the message.
They were also a Democrat.

but yes, his turtle imitation was pretty good.
Good comedy is NOT one-sided.

My local TV station is a CBS affiliate, and so I sometimes catch a few minutes of Colbert after the 10 o'clock news. Is his opening monologue ever on anything besides Trump? Ever?

You want a 100% Trump Free Daily Show, but then you want Jon Stewart back???? That does not compute.

BTW both Conan and Fallon tend to stay away from Trump.

Trevor Noah just isn't as good as Stewart. I watched for a few months and wanted to like it. Just couldn't. Used to think the Colbert report was funny as well, but his new talk show is horrific from what i've seen.

With Jon Stewart off of TV I essentially never watch TV anymore except for sports. I listen to some news shows on a podcast app. I watch a few things on netflix like standup specials and documentaries. But now I spend more time reading books than than anything else.

Every time I tune in Colbert-- which is not often-- Trump's all he can talk about. Even Trevor Noah's not that one-note.

IMO, when Colbert decided to retire his imitation of Bill O'Reilly, he had nothing left but himself, and since he's not that witty as himself, he decided he'd just bash Trump endlessly.

Colbert's show follows my local news, so I occasionally see a few minutes of his show. I understand that his ratings ship was sinking before he latched onto the never-ending Trump schtick. I find his public persona and his any-banana-peel-for-a-cheap-laugh "humor" detestable, but what mystifies me is the difference between that persona and the deeply religious private man. I just don't get it at all. He has written so movingly about his family and the death of his brother, and this isn't the same man you see on TV.
