Manifest- TV series?
Just watched the 1st show. So far looks damned interesting.

Manifest is an American drama television series, created by Jeff Rake, that premiered on September 24, 2018, on NBC. The series centers on the passengers and crew of a commercial airliner who suddenly reappear after being presumed dead for five years. It stars Melissa Roxburgh, Josh Dallas, Athena Karkanis, J. R. Ramirez, Parveen Kaur, and Luna Blaise.

Ty for the reminder. Missed it last night but the pilot rebroadcasts on Friday and I've set my DVR. It does look great.

I’ll check it out. I tend to like those kind of plots.

That's good to read. I've DVR'd the first episode. I won't watch it and others until the season is half or more over. Hell, I'm still working my way through season two of 12 Monkeys. LOL

I have a pet peeve with many TV shows: dramatic inflection points based on a character's unilaterally doing something really stupid, that or based on a character's impulsively doing exactly what someone with good sense expressly told him/her not to do.

Truly, I wish someone would produce a TV show wherein characters do what they're told to do and/or what actually makes sense rather than being impulsive, hubristic boors, cads and nitwits who would get lost in a paper bag with a hole at each end.

12 Monkeys? Is it worth watching???

I missed it...but...airline geek that I am...they show a 737-200 that can hold about 120 people, yet say there were 180 or so on the plane?

Yeah, I'm a stickler.

The first season is. The second season's okay, but where it's headed in season 3 became so very predictable midway through season 2 that I doubt I'm going to waste my time watching season 3. The series ended after season 3.

I share your pet peeve. I recently watched the TV series “Snatch” and while I enjoyed it, the ever increasing stupid-ass mistakes the characters made for the sake of driving the plot got very tiresome.

I like shows where the antagonist and protagonist are both reasonably competent at what they do. I LOVED the Walt vs Gus story arc in Breaking Bad for that very reason.

And even though the antagonist in the movie “The Martian” wasn’t a person, I loved how the main character tackled all the problems with competence. It doesn’t mean they don’t make mistakes, but the mistakes are believable given the situation.

I once heard a podcaster refer to such movies and tv shows as “competence porn” and I have to say that I am a fan of competence porn. I wish there was more of it.

I watched the first episode.

Interesting concept. The idea that a something happens to a pretty large group of people and that the lives of everyone they knew has moved on for five years without them creates lots of possible story lines.

Add in the "voices" that connect all those people and, of course, the investigation into the whole thing.

watching now.

Like a spider web of interacting story lines, where one meets up later in episodes.

i liked it. good plot so far.

You're welcome.

Saw the series advertised and now I have saved many hours of watching a good one start off & go downhill

So finally watched it and yes, I liked it. I remember seeing previews for LOST and thinking hmmm that sounds good and yet I honestly never watched it until maybe 4th season? Whatever one I caught that night though had me pulled in so I went and bought the previous seasons DVDs. I refused to watched it in real time until I caught up and finally did by the last season.

Kind of surprised the reviews I read were so harsh, but I'm looking forward to seeing E2 tomorrow.

I had to laugh because I was soooooooo far off on that "set them free" thing.

I am a stickler too for such things but it happens everywhere in US made TV and movies these days. You know like FBI agents running around Paris shouting freeze this is the FBI.... so of course you have to take these issues with a grain of salt. Now there can be lots of grains of salt that tip the show or movie over.. latest predator movie comes to mind. Or the latest Mission Impossible has quite a few wtf moments that ruin the movie if you catch them. For example a sign saying Wash your hands in a medical tent... with the same in Arabic underneath. Problem is this medical tent is supposed to be in Kashmir...

As for this TV series... it is good and there is so far few errors.

Have the 2nd episode on my DVR. Enjoyed the 1st episode.

Hate to be cynical, but NBC dumps a lot of shows after the 1st season. It's why I hate getting involved in network TV shows. :(

Another one is The Sinner- excellent so far - 2nd season

my wife and i liked the second episode. show might have some legs. good plot.
