My copy of Ziggy Stardust has a note on the back cover that says "Play at maximum volume". That wasn't exactly unusual in the late 60's and early 70's so pull out your vinyl, crank up the Harman/Kardon, blow out the Bose 901s and let us know what albums (not tracks, full albums) need the power treatment.

Granted, Ziggy Stardust is what prompted this thread but the first album that came to mind was Chicago's intro, CTA -

The other was B, S & T's second album.

One that has to be on the list is Exile on Main Street

and, of course, Who's Next

Al Kooper, of course, was the guy that made B, S & T what they were but he also teemed up with Electric Flag's Mike Bloomfield to produce one of the greatest albums ever to demand being cranked to 11

Buddy Guy? Hell Yeah!

Ten years After - Cricklewood Green

No "11" list would be complete without Cream, Disraeli Gears

Funny thing is, Exile is considered the Stones’ magnum opus, but Jagger apparently doesn’t like it that much. /shrug

I don't know if half the people on this forum know what you're talking about, you're showing your age. Bose 901s....

My two cents.

I would love to walk into an elevator in a multi story building and the elevator is playing Santana's Soul Sacrifice rather than the usual whitebread You Light up My Life.

Ever long, by foofighters. That song shines most when its LOUD.

A few featuring electric electric guitar which, IMHO, deserve a volume bump...
