Aretha Franklin "gravely ill"

A true powerhouse. She really never had adequate backup singers...unless it was a full choir. Her studio music cant touch her live performances. Sad to hear that she is down again.

I grew up in Detroit and Motown played on every station. This one is my favorite, my sister played it over and over. :) This is sad to hear.

Wow! What a talent.... what a talent! You who read this can't see the tears in my eyes. I own up to them. Every time I ever tuned into Aretha, the power of her voice from her early years until late into her career rocked my world!

Last I checked updated reports, she remains at home in hospice care surrounded by family and friends. Count me among one of her many many admirers! At this point I send prayers instead of condolences. My deepest appreciation to Aretha Franklin for sharing her amazing talent with so many for so long! God Bless Aretha!

The pic below is from a year ago and I hear she is <100 pounds now.

The Queen of Soul ... always.

Hope she doesn't suffer too much, this time seems Aretha is really unwell.

She will leave a huge legacy.

Very sorry to hear of her passing. She was a memorable talent and a gracious human. Those qualities are unfortunately rare these days. RIP.

May the Queen of soul rest in peace!

There are too many great Aretha Franklin songs for me to name my favorite. I recently posted one of her songs that I probably listen to more than the others. From 1970: Don't Play That Song For Me.

May she have peace. May she be free from suffering. May she have the joy that she brought to so many of us.

Another one who had to bring up ‘qualities that are unfortunately rare these days’. Very poor form, but not unexpected, considering your Dear Leader has NONE of HER qualities.

I didn’t start this, you and nota did, as we now expect from you people. I will answer it though.

Gall? Really? Nice addition to an RIP.

Did you read what the link was about, Linc? Do you know who Clive Davis is? I'm sorry you misunderstood my intention in posting this information.

Your words of Gall in an RIP thread were all any of us needed to read, nota bene.

While I’m at it, I don’t appreaciate Kal using you as a Divisive Cudgel using your name out loud, let alone you ‘liking’ that post. Shame and Sadness

So you didn't read up at the link and realize that Clive Davis was, knowing that her death was imminent, already trying to exploit poor Aretha. The man has n shame. (Ask Whitney Houston's family.) :3oops:
