Which music streaming source is preferred?

Why?

Or is there something else better than either of those?

Considering Pandora is not available outside the US I will say Spotify.

Which had the tv commercial with people in bubbles? That one.

Amazon Music Unlimited, especially when combined with an alexa device.

Spotify is about the least user friendly app I have ever seen in my life. Pandora is light years ahead of Spotify. It's also a few dollars per month less expensive with just as wide a range of downloads and stations.

I've been using Pandora longer and it's cheaper. Spotify does seem to have more features, but I'm still trying to decide if I really want both, given the only time I really have been using them is at the gym when I do cardio.

I'll follow this thread & maybe learn something...

^^^My experience so far, but I'm thinking I just may need more time with Spotify.

Like what? I'm still looking for the secret sauce that makes Spotify worth the extra 5 bucks/month.

I haven't used Pandora in years. I found the tastes selections crappy and spotify at least lets you make playlists of your own favorite songs and allows you to find new suggestions via the playlist which is cool. To me pandora kept playing the same music over and over again. Spotify has a much larger library, and has about the same users as Netflix does.

I like individual songs, and not necessarily bands. I like to be able to cherry pick and Pandora didn't let me do that.

Neither. I don't stream music. I have a couple hundred GB's of music. I can listen to a pretty eclectic mix whenever I want to...and I don't have to use data on my phone.

Okay, that makes sense. I'm more of a band oriented person. I have another device that I have my version of playlists on - ripped music. I use these services more to discover new music than to play old favorites. I'll keep trying Spotify a while longer.

BTW, Pandora has gotten better. I had issues with it being repetitive before. I stopped using it for a couple of years because the gym I was going to didn't have free wifi. Pandora got better in the interim.

Ohhh no no no no....

FREE!!!!

Not paying for any of them right now.

Yeah, I get commercials, but ehhhh, FREE.

Pandora is user friendlier than Spotify.

I've always been happy with Slacker Radio, especially once I purged all the Morrisey from my stations.

I use the Spot free service and am very happy with it. Download any LP or songs I want and pick em and play em.

Google Play Music... for the same subscription as Pandora I can stream whole albums easily.

Though, full disclosure, I do still subscribe to Pandora because sometimes I like to hear the music it finds for me.

I use Pandora for free at home on my Google Home Mini. My old roommate pays for Spotify and its premium version looks nice but when i tried the free version I thought it was garbage.

The free version of Spotify is rather tedious to work with in my opinion.

Excellent thread. I have been wondering whether I should get Pandora. I have the Pandora app on the CUE panel in my car and I have never used it much.

I have tons of music on my phone, plus we have xm radio in the car. I just didn't see the need to get Pandora but if it's going to offer different things than xm, I might give it a shot.

I've been listening to Pandora for FREE, for years. You can try it at no cost at all.
You'll get a few commercials here and there, but it's never any worse than regular radio commercials in frequency, but you get better control over what music to listen to.

Get the app for your smartphone and check it out. Again, it can be 100% FREE.

thanks. :) Will do!

On my iPad I like Spotify, because the free version allows you to pick and choose any song, just have to listen to a commercial every 30 minutes. On any device other than an iPad, I like Pandora better. I would never pay money for either, or any streaming service. I can tolerate a short commercial once in a while.
