Superman actress Margot Kidder, born in Yellowknife, N.W.T., has died at age 69.
She died Sunday at her home in Livingston, Mont., according to an obituary posted online Monday by the Franzen-Davis Funeral Home and Crematory. The cause of death was not immediately known.
Kidder's family has publicly confirmed the death.
"Her health hadn't been fantastic," her Toronto-based sister, Annie Kidder, told CTV on Monday afternoon.
The family is awaiting the coroner's report to reveal the cause of death, she added.

I first saw Margot Kidder in Sisters, and was wowed by her performance and beauty. I thought she stole Superman from Chris Reeves, even tho the role barely scratched the surface of her talents. Sad she is gone, sad she hadn't enjoyed many better roles. RIP Margot. You are loved by those you never knew.

I had no idea she was in Livingston. Anyway RIP

She's from the NWT?

How about that? How many peeps at the high levels of Hollywood, from NWT? She's the only I'm familiar with.

She had been living with mental illness for many years.

Apparently she was on some molecular [something] drug that was helping her a lot.

Actress Margot Kidder - 'Superman'

5/14/18

Margot Kidder, who found fame as Lois Lane in the 1978 film "Superman," died Sunday at her home in Montana, her manager confirmed to CNN. She was 69 years old. According to her manager, the actress died peacefully in her sleep. Kidder starred opposite Christopher Reeve's Clark Kent and his alter ego Superman in the original film as well as the three sequels: "Superman II" in 1980, "Superman III" in 1983 and "Superman IV: The Quest for Peace" in 1987. Reeve died in 2004 of complications from an infection, nine years after becoming a quadriplegic following a horse riding accident.

Born in the Northwest Territories of Canada, she made her professional acting debut on the TV series "Wojeck" in 1969 and had her first film role in the 1968 Canadian movie "The Best Damn Fiddler from Calabogie to Kaladar." Hollywood soon beckoned and a move to Los Angeles led to roles on TV shows including "McQueen," "Mod Squad" and "Nichols." But playing scrappy reporter and Superman's love interest Lois Lane was her breakout role. Tributes to the actress poured in on social media Monday.

RIP Margot & Lois Lane

Hell the only reason I know Yellowknife even exists is because of Ice Pilots.

I just watched a video about her yesterday talking about famous people who were homeless.
