Lyrics:
"Chains"
All of these chains
Weighing down on me
Weighing down
All of these chains
Weighing down on me
Weighing down
My mind's a haze
With all this pain
And I can't change a thing
Lost in this maze
I can't find a way
I can't break my spirit free
All of these chains
Weighing down on me
Weighing down
All of these chains
Weighing down on me
Weighing down
Yeah I drift away
To a brighter place
That I close my eyes to see
And then someday
I think that things will change
But I'm losing my belief
All of these chains
Weighing down on me
Weighing down
All of these chains
Weighing down on me
Weighing down
I'm down on my knees
I need some relief
Some quiet and peace
I've been here before
Tethered and torn
I won't take anymore
All of these chains
Weighing down on me
Weighing down
All of these chains
Weighing down on me
Weighing down
All of these chains
Weighing down on me
Weighing down
All of these chains
Weighing down on me
Weighing down

Could be the new anthem for a current generation

(BTW few "live" concerts ever recorded match this one)

Song starts about 1 minute in.

A soulful rendition of blues and gospel. Everything about this recording is delicious.

Beth Rowley - Nobodys Fault But Mine (Live)

Welcome :)

Socially distant........

What I'm listening to (and you too).

surprised in constantly floating that they would allow that bass to be recorded with a speaker that was in desperate need of a re-cone
every low note played by the bassist was an awful, raspy mess, no matter how well he played
in contrast, the piano was perfect

Beth Rowley - Nobody's Fault But Mine

i loved it
my wife did not. said she could not listen to her for very long. stunned me. Rowley reminds me of Eva Cassidy

the melody was blatantly stolen from house of the rising sun

Money. They are from somewhere in Africa. Poor as heck. Hopefully their forthcoming album will breakout in Europe. They were doing a short tour in Italy and France when the virus broke out, and it was aborted. But they were well received on some telecasts and the few shows they did. One of my cousin's kids, a cello and viola player, gigged in France with the German piano player a few years back. An Edith Piaf retrospective and covers. That kid is here now, studying at Berklee for a year, working when he can. He's 29, married with 2 little ones of his own and I still call him a kid. :doh His wife holds the day job.

I've covered Blind Willie's version many times, and ruined it many times. Beth is now my favorite for covering this treasure as a treasure.

I first heard this song covered by The Blues Project live sometime in the late 60's, about 10-15 years later by Geoff Muldaur live at someone's home in near New Paltz. I don't believe they or he recorded it.

Love Love Love the tits and the ass and the fun....

We are certainly not allowed to do this sort of thing anymore!
