.38 Special - Hold On Loosely (Live)

A Flashback to the 80's...

Have you lost your mind yet? I asked people around the world to send me footage of how they're coping with coronavirus...this is what came back. A moment of light. We may be isolated behind closed doors, but we are in this together.

This is a song we recorded 20 years ago in our friend Joe Murphy's studio in Essex and Joe also played keys on it and produced it with Paul Killington. We found it today in a box where its been gathering dust all these years and we thought it would be nice to share with you, it's a little piece of our musical history.

There is a star in the sky
Bright keeping watch on the river
Blue like the colour of ice
Pure like the love you have given

Oh one shaft of light
Soft heavenly sight
In the winter

I see the stains of your tears
Fall like the path of your sorrow
Hold out your hand and I'm here
I will take care of tomorrow

You light up my life
No shadows tonight
In the winter

There is a star in the sky
Bright keeping watch on the river
Blue like the colour of ice
Pure like the love you have given

Oh one shaft of light
Soft heavenly sight
In the winter

You light up my life
No shadows tonight
In the winter

Far from the dream in these eyes
I know a place we can shelter
Far from the world you and I
Lost here forever and ever

I'll show you inside
A warm safe place to hide
I'll show you inside
A warm safe place to hide
In the winter, in the winter
In the winter, in the winter

Slow down, slow down, slow down

It’s been a long time
Comin’ round and smoothing out the edges
And slowing down
And listening
What is important?
What is your focus?
Don’t you go and stumble now
Are you listening?

Horsetail, horsetail we can heal it all
With plant medicine
Body, mind, and spirit crying
Slow down, slow down, slow down

Making a broth for a feverish head
Nah, I’m no stranger to
Loneliness
Are you struggling?
Sweeter than lavender
Years in the making drink it up
It’s your nature
But I’m struggling
Coping with all of it
To hell with enlightenment
Clearly, I am no good at this
Who’s even listening?
Take it all on, like you know what you’re doing
Try not to lose yourself out there
Are you listening?

Horsetail, horsetail we can heal it all
With plant medicine
Body, mind, and spirit crying
Slow down, slow down, slow down

Absolutely, beautiful Celtic sounds. Goes well with a Cohiba.
