Grace Potter - I Shall Be Released (Live)

A lot has happened to Ten Years After since their previous studio album in 2008. Frontman Joe Gooch and original bassist Leo Lyons have quit, plus they’ve weathered the sad news of the passing of Alvin Lee, the band’s one-time guitar hero and singer. Alvin’s legacy now rests with new boys Marcus Bonfanti (guitar/vocals) and bassist Colin Hodgkinson, plus surviving founder members Chick Churchill (keyboards) and Ric Lee (drums).

The Rolling Stones - Hate To See You Go

I'm listening to Van Morrison while cooking a late lunch or early dinner or something. I'm not sure which it'll be.

Van Morrison is one of my all time favorites. Van is a cerebral kind of guy. He is extremely talented and a gifted song writer. He's also reportedly a pain in the ass. Morrison apparently spent a while looking for something to make sense out of his life. I have no idea if he found it or stop looking or whatever.

While I am not a Christian I was raised as one. Growing up in the South you aren't ever far from Christian influence. I have no problem with it. It just doesn't work for me. I respect whatever other people believe, or don't, as long as they don't try to put it on me.

I very much this song. I understand how it could very moving for Christians. Whatever, it's great to listen to while cooking coconut chicken, small potatoes, a side of bok choy and drinking wine.

Whenever God Shines His Light - Van Morrison:

This Van Morrison song I can easily relate to. I'm guessing Van Morrison might have been going through his Buddhist phase when he wrote this. I'm guessing. What the hell do I know?

Into the Mystic - Van Morrison

One more. Van Morrison with Mr. John Lee Hooker.

To fully appreciate this song I think you have to be an old sumbitch who has fewer regrets than he should have.

Wasted Years:

Wow, this kid is good! Some of the comments compared him to Bob Dylan...

Sam was the winner of The Voice Kids UK in 2019!

Joe Cocker - You Can Leave Your Hat On

So glad he decided to pick up the guitar and sing for us again...just the sound of his voice takes me back to younger days...

Sure sounds like his Daddy...

I seek the water
I seek the trees
I seek the heavens
When I’m brought down to my knees

Yeah I know anger
I know peace
Yeah I know darkness
And it knows me
And it knows me

I’ve felt the fire
I’ve held the sword
I’ve fought desire
But I lost that war
Crying out in shame
Oh for goodness sake
I tried to disagree
Oh but it knows me
Yeah it knows me

Bless my soul
Grace set me free
I know my sins
And they know me

Bless my soul
Grace set me free
I know my sins
And they know me

Seeing Korn in a bit (since they went back to more 'metal' roots). Opener is Breaking Benjamin. If I liked it I'd have posted what I listened to here, but I didn't. instruments are allright, but the singer tries to sound hard..... but then switches to this whiny blink-182 sound. No thanks. Clearing my ears out with the 1990 live Saint Vitus release...

I know i have posted this one before; one of the earlier posts was a Cat Stevens song; reminded me of this one.

Family legend states that my maternal grand-father once said to me, “now that you can talk, shut the hell up!”

“......from the moment I could talk, I was ordered to listen.....”

**** yeah. (Skip to ~2:09 for start)
