Exquisite guitar, more than exquisitely elegant music from THE MAN, oh so cool.

Struck down by heart disease at 45, a loss for humanity. Among those he influenced Jimi Hendrix, Carlos Santana, John McLoughlin, Barney Kessel, among so many more.

Dan Fogelberg - Wishing On The Moon

How many eyes will you sack in sorrow;
Seeking to borrow some sight of your own?
How many lies will you have to suffer,
When you discover there's nobody home?
How many roads will you have to wander;
How many dead end streets?
How many dreams will you finally squander,
Dodging your own defeats?
You're wishing on the moon tonight.
There's not a lucky star in sight.
Just wishing on the moon tonight.

How many doors will you have to open,
Desperately hoping each one's the last?
How many more will you close behind you,
Bitter and blind to the shadows you cast?
How many fools will you have to follow;
How many wayward winds?
How many sins will you have to swallow,
Until the truth sinks in?
That you've been ... wishing on the moon tonight.
There's not a lucky star in sight.
Just wishing on the moon tonight.
Just wishing on the moon.

How many eyes will you sack in sorrow;
Seeking to borrow some sight of your own?
How many lies will you have to suffer,
When you discover there's nobody home?
How many roads will you have to wander;
How many dead end streets?
How many dreams will you finally squander,
Dodging your own defeats?
You're wishing on the moon tonight.
There's not a lucky star in sight.
Just wishing on the moon tonight.

You're wishing on the moon tonight.
There's not a lucky star in sight.
Just wishing on the moon tonight.
Wishing on the moon.
You're just, just, just wishing.

Several older videos of David Paich (keyboards/vocals) and Joseph Williams (vocals) performing this song live and then blended with a recent concert video.

Toto - Africa (Live)

Took Dog for his first walk, 21 degrees, high humidity, breezy enough to cut to the bone. You can smell the snow that will soon be arriving. Dog cut the walk short after doing his morning business, quickly. Not his favorite weather. As soon as I had my parka off and hung, I lit a fire in the living room fireplace, prepared yesterday with apple and hickory kindling under cedar and pine splits. Started a coffee brewing, and put this on the sound system at low volume. My wife is still asleep, and likely the neighbors. Dog trotted out of the bedroom, after sipping some water in the kitchen, with his blanket, pulled a large floor pillow near the fireplace, wrapped himself around it, and covered his head with his blanket. He's already snoring lightly. I'm sipping my coffee with a touch of applejack, sitting at my desk, cat is wrapped on my shoulder, her head nuzzling my neck.

With much sadness, this song reminds me of my 2nd born child. She would have turned 27 this Monday. We spent her 26th birthday together. I cry for her everyday.

Decades ago, during my teen years, I listened to this song countless times before capturing it's special mood and tuning into it's oxymoron lyrics. Once in awhile, an old saying, particularly one just made up, gives my soul some comfort. Feel some Trippy T Love!

Rock'n Roll Mood
Loggins and Messina

I pick me up by the seat of my pants
And put my fingers down on the keys
To sing a story that ends nobody's friends
I'm sittin' in a rock 'n' roll mood
I'd like to help but I know it's no good
They say nobody's friend, is nobody's fool
That's an old saying that I just made up
Singing songs is to make people smile
But I'm having trouble smiling myself
And now you ask me for a song to help you along
But I'm sittin' in a rock 'n' roll mood
I'd like to help you but I know it's no good

I'm like a fish that done dropped out of his school
That's another saying that I just made up
How about a man who can't see his own face
Look at himself in the act
Fortune teller is trying to tell about
What she's doing the farm and that ain't all
Now won't you think of a man with a watch in his hand
Who's dying in to himself, duh
Now how about the singer whose sittin' here singing
That he's sittin on the rock 'n' roll mood
He'd like to help you but he knows
At least, he thinks he's no good
Sittin' on the rock 'n' roll mood
Here's an old saying, I think I'll go home

trip, so sorry you are having to endure a sense of loss i cannot imagine

I'd like to help but I know it's no good

Trippy, very sad to hear. My deepest sympathy to you and your family for the loss of your precious daughter....hugs.
