Current TV Series You'd Like To Recommend

I still watch TWD, but it feels like more of a chore at this point, than something I actually want to watch. I remember bingewatching the first 3 seasons with my GF, and that got me so hooked on the show, and I loved the 4th, and 5th Seasons. But ever since that fake-out from the end of Season 6, I've never felt the same way about the show. It sucks to see the quality of the show drop so low. It's really disheartening. Everything, from the camera angles, to the dialogue, to the action scenes, are just so bad now.

I started to watch Z-Nation because I wanted an alternative. And I am enjoying it. Sure, it has zombies, but the show for the most part is very humorous and fun, making it very enjoyable. And pretty much every episode is fresh and new, and it doesn't feel like it's being dragged out or spinning it's wheels in the mud like TWD is. FTWD is good too, but I'm cautious on how Season 4 is gonna go.

I quit watching FTWD the a couple of years ago. I just couldn't force myself to watch.

No , he’s not in it.

It stars Angela Bassett, , Connie Britton, Peter Krause, Oliver Stark, Aisha Hinds. The show Explores the high-pressure experiences of police , a 911 operator , paramedics and firefighters who are thrust into the most frightening, shocking and heart-stopping sceans...

I loved the roller coaster episode. Man, talk about the opening being unexpected! Usually, prime-time shows aren't that harsh.

Yes, the roller coaster one was pretty intense and harsh too.

My husband and I had a discussion about the past week's episode regarding Athena and her newly outed husband.

How is his wanting to bring his boyfriend around any different than a man wanting to bring his girlfriend around? If he had been cheating on her with a woman, would he expect Athena to open her arms to the new squeeze, and expect the kids to accept her? Athena needs to ask him to move out, and get his own place. Then let the relationship progress as it would with a normal situation like this. Otherwise, it's excruciating for Athena, and apparently, not so great for the kids, either. He is the only one who has his cake and can eat it, too.

Ozark
Narcos
Black Mirror
Stranger Things

The End Of The F *** ing World is pretty darn good.

I find The end of the F World repulsive and repellent. Ten minutes was enough to place it on my short list of the nastiest shows of all time.

I'm enjoying Black Sails and will certainly watch Babylon Berlin if/when we get it on Swedish Netflix. (The Netlix offe differs from coutlry to country).

This is the type of show that makes me think about school shooters and what makes them tick.

I dunno. I about zombied out. I am only watching TWD because my daughter is such a fan, and it's something that she and I have always watched together. If she didn't watch it, I'd kind of give up on it. I've watched from day one, and it's just not that interesting to me anymore.

I'm scared of zombies.

Don't laugh, but I really like The Good Doctor.

It's light, serious and funny all in one. Also a Gotham fan.

I'm a huge fan of the book and I'll wait till it finishes before I binge watch it. I hope they stayed true to the material.

Haven't read the book. The show is dark. Really dark. It's also a smidgen slow - I almost gave up on it a time or two, but I kept going back. It was like I wanted to finish it but I didn't want to. It's a good show - just a little slow for my taste.

Well the book is extremely gruesome with its depictions of a serial killer preying on child prostitutes. I once thought it was unfilmable because of the subject matter.

The first time I read this I started the book early evening and I was thinking I'd read enough just to fall asleep since I had an early flight the next day. The hours passed so quickly because I was so riveted and I ended up staying awake through the entire night when my morning alarm sounded, reminding me I had to get ready for the flight lol.

I really enjoyed Red Oaks, though the third season was weak.

The Marvelous Mrs. Maisel and Good Girls Revolt were worth it.

Everything Sucks tries way, way too hard to remind you that it's set in the '90s.

 I did something similar the first time I read Pet Sematary. I couldn't put it down.

And yeah, this is gruesome. I mean, you think you know things, and then all of a sudden, you hear about boy prostitutes dressing up like girls 100 years ago. I mean - wut?

Funny you should say that. In the first episode of Babylon Berlin, there were also ... boy prostitutes. Seems it was common during those days.

The Knick. I'm finishing it up now. It was a short-lived show (2 seasons), but it is quite something. The first thing you'll notice is the soundtrack--dark synthwave or Vangelis on a really bad day. Then it's the dark version of E.R. mixed with Requiem for a Dream, because it's early 20th century hospitals and lots of drug use. Lots...and lots of drug use.

As someone with a thing against needles, it's a tough show to watch. And if you don't like those old TLC surgery videos, you may not like this.

Electric Dreams on Amazon, all are from Phillip K Dick stories, lots of stars too. Good Scifi like Black Mirror.

I am waiting for a new episode of Z Nation.

There hasn't been one since December.

Altered Carbon, a Blade Runner-style noir mystery (is that redundant?) on Netflix is a solid "B" show. It won't blow your mind, but it's a dignified way to kill the time until the next season of Westworld comes out. The plot gets more than a little convoluted and loses its way at times, but the visuals and the atmosphere are pretty good. The lead female was terribly cast, though.

Edit: it's probably obvious that I don't strictly always read the OP.

There's a comedy series here about a group of teen girls growing up during the troubles in 1980's Northern Ireland. (The Inbetweeners meets Father Ted!)

"Derry Girls" V funny while reflecting the life back there back then, by all accounts

It may be in the third season (now also on Netflix) but I am a big fan of Lucifer
