Played for James Henry at a club in Magnolia, Texas last Saturday. How I got that gig is hilarious. I used to play bass for Edison Freeman, who retired a year ago as a band leader. He came out of retirement to play bass for James Henry, after Henry's bass player quit to play for Rick Lee. I play for Charlie Parker, but couldn't make a few gigs because of the mumps. James Henry comes back from Switzerland and now needs a bass player for a gig, but Edison had already committed to playing for Charlie Parker that night to help me out. James calls me, and I have recovered from the mumps, the flu, and a bad case of bronchitis. So I do the gig. Essentially, for one night, Edison Freeman and I switch places, subbing on bass for each other's band. There's a million jokes in this. LOL.

Great story, but did we end-up in some kind of time warp?
