What is needed to save Star Wars after the last Jedi debacle?

Honestly, it could be 2 hours of Jar Jar binks tap dancing while he ****s out porgs....and if we get that scrolling yellow text and the pan down from the stars to the space ship he's tap dancing on, it'd still make top 3 money at the box office opening weekend at the very least.

YeP. My question to those that defend it...would you see it again in theatres? I think a lot of people are answering that question now.

Saved suggests it needs saving.

I was incredibly disappointed with the Last Jedi, feeling like it was both a meh to bad movie and a meh to bad star wars movie. That said, The Phantom Menace was a bad movie, but that didn't stop me from eagerly awaiting Attack of the Clones opening night. Similarly, TLJ isn't going to stop any fanboy from going out for opening night of 9 either.

One of the problems for me is they can't really do anything to justifiably "fix" my issues with Rei and Kylo. Both feel horribly under developed, undeserving, and hollow and I just don't see how that's going to be fixed in the 3rd movie.

Honestly? I'll wait to Redbox Ep VIIII and probably won't bother at all with Solo, unless enough people I trust tell me it's fantastically good (definitely not in the theater, though). TFA wasn't a dealbreaker for me, though I found it mostly meh, but it combined with TLJ has me not even caring what comes next, and I'm far from alone. Stinker movies and oversaturation will take its toll even on Star Wars. How much, I don't know, but I definitely see a different reaction compared to the prequels.

The plot is the worst part of this movie. I don’t need characters from the original trilogy or anything like that. Ray and fin are enough. Ray and fin are enough to keep this movie going even Kylo is a cool character. But when they are poorly written...there isn’t much that can be done. A bad movie is a bad movie. As people keep bringing up Jar Jar and anakin. Bad characters. But love them or hate them...the plot had some semblance of order and made sense . And remember...ultimately...anakin is a bad guy and you aren’t supposed to like him lol. And at least his lightsaber duel was epic at the end of 3.

But seriously. They have squandered this and it is going to to take a lot of effort to make the next movie pass better than a kidney stone. And even being fair...I enjoyed the force awakens. It felt like a new direction was being taken with new characters. Thoughntjey shouldn’t have recycled the plot.

The next movie is a well know complete wreck, Ron Howard was brought in to essentially do it over.

I am talking about Solo.

Well the movie itself was pretty good but I think there should be less plotholes next time. There are often plot holes in Star Wars, but this movie was filled to the brim with them.
