I recently discovered a song called "Metal Machine" by the band Sabaton. If you're wondering why you haven't heard of them before, it's because their music is fairly niche, and is usually focused on making badass ballads about battles throughout history - also, you are far too worried about always being in the know.

Anyway, this 2005 song from their album Primo Victoria is significantly less coherent than anything else of theirs I've heard before, but it's basically a seamless string of references to other bands and songs, so it's okay - besides, the awesomeness is turned up to 11, just like everything else they've put out.

If you liked that, you might as well check out more of their music. My personal favorites are Resist & Bite, Shiroyama, and the Last Stand. I seem to have an unhealthy love for hopelessly outnumbered underdogs.

Not really my thing(I like slower, Sabbathy doom metal mostly), but definitely not bad. Some real talent there.

there's really nothing interesting there.

Sorry dude.

Not exactly in the same vein as Black Sabbath, but Three Decades of War and Hearts of Iron are both a lot slower paced than that song was. The former is about the horrific death toll of the Protestant Reformation, and the latter is about the German General who disobeyed a direct order from Hitler at the end of the war, and evacuated Berlin to surrender to the English & American forces.

Yeah, not my kinda music. I listen mainly rap and R&B, but every now and then I branch out my horizons a little.

Check this out- great doomy metal song, sounds like Lemmy singing over a Tony Iommi riff.

Wow. They pretty much suck. While a lot of metal is posturing and image, they've got enough recycled cliches to last a lifetime.

That's the point of that song, Tanngrisnir. It's a loud, ridiculous collage of references to the most infamous metal bands of yesteryear, violently mashed together with no regard for rhyme or reason. Cliche doesn't even begin to describe this song, and that's why I love it so.

I suppose we all make mistakes. It's what makes us human, after all.

I hope you figure out what good music really sounds like, someday.

Hey! Not all of my music taste is bad! People like Lil Pump are a guilty pleasure for me, but people like Childish Gambino, SZA, and Kendrick Lamar are pretty damned good.

Accept and Wasp - 2 bands I haven't really thought about in a long time. Definitely has the feel of of early 80's Heavy Metal stuff before thrash engulfed it. I have to agree with Redress on this. Not really my type of metal, but the dudes can play. No real knock, just not a variety I'm into right now.

Meshugga - now you're talking.

It's a throwback of a song, alright. I might be a 2000's kid, but my parents were deep into rock as kids - I grew up listening to the 70's and 80's.

I grew up in the 70's, so it was on the roots of all of this stuff, and then into the 80's stuff until Hair Metal bored me to tears.

Literal earrape. I'd almost rather listen to that mumble rap garbage Governess abuses herself with.

Wow. You literally had your ears penetrated and violated? They're better than I thought!

The musicianship required to play that kind of material is beyond what most people appreciate but, similar to Frank Zappa, it's an acquired taste.
