... and it kinda sucked.

Yeah I know, drama show has to have drama.... but holey Hannah who is advising them on tactics and such?

The sheet metal on the sides of the vehicles would not stop a handgun bullet, let alone rifle round.

And what in the hell was the big verbal confrontation about anyway?? Seemed pointless.

And why in the hell did Rick not just SHOOT NEEGAN! he was right THERE.... not even 50 yards, standing in the open, nobody shooting at the moment, he had a clear easy shot. I could make that shot with a decent handgun if I had to, with a good rifle I could dot his eyes. In fact any Georgia boy that couldn't shoot a man from that range with a rifle would be disowned by his family.

And the time bouncing was a bit annoying.

Four BIG Walking Dead fans sitting on my couch tonight and ALL were very disappointed.

I think Negan is going to die at some point. But that scene wouldn't have done his death justice. It's going to be a dramatic one, just like what happened at the start of the prior season.

I agree. In fact, when I first saw the vehicle set-up, I assumed it had to do with guiding the walker horde to the enemy headquarters.

When I saw them using it as shields I thought the same as you...everyone knows corrugated metal like that isn't bulletproof.

And what in the hell was the big verbal confrontation about anyway?? Seemed pointless.

I think they were trying to do two things:

1. Actually try to give Neegan's followers a chance to surrender and sacrifice him without a fight.

2. Keep the leaders focused on the group and out in the open until the vehicle explosion and the arrival of the Horde.

I don't see how Neegan got away, or Rick kept missing except that the writers have never really dealt with firearms (they leave it to the prop people) and just assumed we'd believe "he just missed."

This from a character who regularly gets head shots on shambling walkers?

And the time bouncing was a bit annoying.

I've never read the commix, so maybe this is something from them...dream flashbacks or whatever.

So yeah, I was annoyed by dragging this out, and more annoyed by the situation with the reverend at the end.

IMO the whole leadership could have been taken out in one quick kill, and then the followers could have been given the "quit or die" option.

I guess that's no way to keep a series going...at least per the writers.

I agree BUT it would have been a ridiculously easy shot.

Neegan should have had better sense than to walk out and stand out in the open within easy rifle range of a crapload of people with reasons to want him dead. That he did so struck me as an astonishingly stupid act... and while Negan may be a lot of things, he isn't supposed to be stupid.

Yeah, we really groaned over the Rev at the end. I mean yeah, he's the Rev, but does he not know what Gregory is?

And then in the "**** your pants" clip.... why didn't he shoot the instant he saw Negan?

Idiotic.

I can see the big honcho confrontation as a distraction I suppose... but it wasn't really necessary to the plan really, and it was a big risk.

I guess part of the reason I feel it was an unreasonable risk is because I KNOW the sheet metal wouldn't stop bullets...

I think this had to do with two things.

1. He is terribly arrogant, and it's not the first time he's stood out in the open where Rick's group had guns...he always thinks he has the upper hand.

2. He wasn't aware that his roof guards were gone, and he thought his upper hand was the Hilltop leader's (non)ability to divide Rick's forces.

Exactly what I thought. I didn't have to see Neegan, I know his voice.

The moment I'd have heard it my weapon would be shooting in that general direction while I moved to the closest cover.

....

I can see it I guess.... but it should have been the end of him. I can't see Rick (and others) holding back from killing him with such a good opportunity, and I can't see anyone remotely skilled as missing such a clear shot with no opposing fire.

I said something similar to my daughter. They were all standing around, playing pattycake or some ****, and I was like, "Why doesn't Rick just mow him down??"

Yeah. This episode didn't deserve all the hype it got. It wasn't horrible, but nothing overly great either.

And yes, that pisses me off as well. I really hate that Negan can just stand out there and monologue. In fact, there's too much damn monologuing in this show. Logically, someone should've shot him before he started speaking. But plot armor dictates that he must survive.

I dunno, I've kinda lost a whole lot of my interest in TWD in general, because of stuff like this. I'm actually more into Fear the Walking Dead now, than I am into the actual Walking Dead. Which is crazy, because I never thought that would happen.

Rick: "Don't mess with me! I trained in the Stormtrooper academy!"

I can't see it. It makes the plot armor surrounding Negan soooooo obvious. He's not Iron Man; hell he's not even wearing body armor. All he has on is a leather jacket.

Just shoot him, dammit! Realistically, Negan (and the rest of his lieutenants standing next to him, should have all been riddled with bullets).

If they can consistently shoot shambling zombies in the head with pistols from 20-30 feet, they should be able to hit a standing man at 30 yards with a rifle.

You'd think so, but apparently not. I know they have to keep him alive for the story, but they could at least try and make it plausible. This show irks me when people do things that they realistically wouldn't do.

I can suspend disbelief for the 2 year old gasoline being usable, and the sheet metal being able to stop bullets, but I can't buy Negan standing out in the open and not getting shot. It just make the plot armor too obvious for my liking.

FTWD has gotten better. I had trouble getting into it for a long time; the characters just weren't as relatable to me (west coast thing I suppose) as TWD.

Still, characters in FTWD make a lot of amazingly bad decisions....

Heh. Yeah I mentioned that to my peeps at one point. With the modern biofuel additives the stuff would go bad in just a few months. Even regular unleaded would go bad within a year.

But I could look over that, but like you say this was just too blatant.

Yes, Season 1 and 2 had a lot of problems. I really just am dissapointed how it didn't really give us what it promised (showing the downfall of society). We saw glimpses, but that's about it. I really enjoyed Season 3, though. I felt it was a great improvement from the past two seasons. None of it felt like filler, which is what some of the episodes of TWD tend to feel like. Plus, I think the characters (new and old) had great character development. And yeah, they did make stupid decisions at some points (I don't know how much you've watched, so I don't know if I should get into specifics).

IKR! Two guards get dropped by sharp shooters, dozens of armed enemies behind concealment and Neegan just walks out?!?

When Rick did the false countdown and fired at 7, why did he just spray?!?

Everyone was made to wear armor, except Rick?

The Reverend has an AR yet Neegan says he should be ****ting his pants? How was the next moment not Neegan end?

The plot armor on this show is killing me...

Season 8 opener, revised, with Goshin playing the part of Rick....

(Door opens, Negan steps out...)
Goshin/Rick: "Holy crap, there's Negan!"
*BANG*
Goshin/Rick "Heh, got him. Dumbass thought he was going to talk his way out of this one..."

Maybe there is an AutoZone on every corner that has fuel stabilizers.

Well, I'm told that with your modern corn-a-hol added, even fuel stabilizer is only good for a few months.

Diesel might stay good for several years....

I was pretty annoyed by them not shooting Neegan, but I found a way to justify it to myself. Rick started shooting at 6 or so when he was counting down which makes me think Neegan must have made a move. I can buy him suddenly jumping out of sight and Rick freaking out because he blew his chance. As to why they didn't shoot him during his speech I'm thinking Rick was trying to let everyone else live so he didn't want to just spark a huge firefight. I was disappointed with episode, but I'm a huge fan so they'll have me either way.

What the hell was the point of shooting out all the windows?

Just got done watching last night's episode, Season 8 Episode 4 - Some Guy and last night's Talking Dead.

It seems to me that people missed a very important connection concerning Shiva.

King Ezekiel was talking to Carol about himself before the apocalypse and about his seconds of hesitation before jumping into the tiger pit to save Shiva. I don't know if Shiva hesitated, but the tiger returned the favor by jumping into the toxic walker pit to save Ezekiel. On Talking Dead, there was a poll about how viewers felt when Shiva died and 10% said they were proud. I was proud of Shiva, too.

The problem for me was

They filmed that Shiva/Ezekiel scene like complete and utter ****. Shiva could have just been a short distraction and the. leaped out of the pit.

Instead, they lingered in the ****ing drama. Just like when Ezekiel and his captor were stumbling from the Kingdom-quasi-horde earlier in the episode. Like, what the **** people, seconds count, stop wasting ****ing time.
